Ah hah this will shock many people
I have the label ;D
.....although have had the plant a few years it never flowered until I gave it some special feed
It has on the label Hydrangea macrophylla "Blauling" so think it must be mostly a blue plant

Thanks jenny. I've seen the term 'macrophylla' in gardening books but not been able to distinguish the globe from the 'non-globe' type. I'll look out for that one. I just love the 'looseness' of the flowers.

Aw African Violets remind me of my grandma - she loved them and they were the first plants I learned to propagate. Those and streptocarpus

Oh and these too - polyanthus or primrose? Definately a prim Shrub. Poly's have one large stem with multiple flowers which they hold well above the foliage. Prims have one stem per flower which is held close to the foliage! S x
