maglonian , It seems more like a pale lemon to me but it's beautiful, looks like you have tons of buds still to open. Most definitely yellow - shall I delete it from here ? BTW thanks RF

A beautiful Anemone fozzie, I have some pink ones in bloom that Barbara sent a few years ago and I'm delighted with it. I did have Wild Swan as well but I can't find it this year but things dissappear in my garden all the time.

Thank you Ladygardener, and Rosefriend, I now know what it is and I am glad I have it. There is something about "simple" flowers (4-8 petals) I just get drawn to them. Perhaps it's the term simple.

They've done really well for you fozzie, I took this pic on the way to the allotment at the weekend. I've no idea what it is, it was growing through some hedges and trees.

Could it be Old Man's Beard Ladygardener,? It is very pretty, but it is a thug. I dug some out of my plot a number of years ago, but have noticed this year, along with the bind weed, I have a few seedlings popping up, which I have promptly dug out.

I don't know bagpuss I guess we'll have to wait until it turns to seed to be sure but from what I have googled you could be right. It's growing along the trees by the railway line but has'nt taken over, there is'nt a lot of it... I will give it a sniff when I next go there to see if it smells of almonds.

Is Old Man's Beard the same as Clematis vitalba bagpuss, Ladygardener, ?? That is what I thought when I saw it but don't know the UK name anymore...

Well peony Shirley Temple from the GG turned out to be something quite different I think it is White Wings - probably better for me as it won't flop over.

I must check mine, I know they do change colour, but thought they faded, but they must colour up!

Yes mine certainly do Tig although I do have 1 set that have stayed white.I'd be interested to know if yours get more or less colour. I'm delighted with them, did I say that.

I never saw a multicoloured one before. Either purple or white, this is a lovely one but it makes one wonder what the kids will look like. If it is stable in producing new ones of the same mix you are in for a winner LG.

Dutchy, I'd admired it a while back when Tig grew it so sowed the seeds she sent right away. That was back in 2015 and this is the 1st year flowering. I got quite a few healthy plants from them, Jenny has some as well and I may have given some to Ruth. I must check with them and see how their plants behave. I grow the deep cerise ones too and really like them 'tho these ones are easier to place in my garden.

Ah so Tig had multi coloured ones and these are the children of those. Interesting and I suppose that means I will be begging seeds of you

Not a problem in the least Dutchy. I'll let one plant go to seed and try to get them when they're ready. I'd already thought to offer you some if I can get them.

If I remember correctly it was called lychnis coronaria Angel's Blush when I had the first plant, and it does seem to come true from seed, although I have kept it well away from the bright cerise one.

Lovely, I hope you succeed in getting seeds then LG. Tig I suppose bees travel so far afield there is bound to be interbreeding so if it does stay true it has a strong desire to be Angel's blush and not cerise or white.

That's certainly what it looks like Tig. Some sites say it's short lived and some say long lived but they do say it comes true from seed Dutchy.
