It's beautiful Ladygardener, I grow the bright Cerise one. Lilly Baferarri, I split the bulbs up between more pots this year to give them more room and the flowers are the size of dinner plates.

Thanks Ladygardener , they were a gift from J Parker, one of the ones where you get things really cheap if you spend over a certain amount. They are trussed up like mad though to keep them high in the air, as lily pollen is poisonous to cats, and I have to make sure I check them every day and dead head them as soon as they start to go over.

You can cut the pollen sacks off it you are worried Jilly, they still bloom as long. I do the lower ones where cat gets in the border to sleep, but leave the tall ones. She's managed to get to 17 years old with them in the garden. The tree & oriental lilies are stunning at the moment, they have a much better scent than the asiatics.

Of course, I'd not thought about your guys being in the garden and the pollen Jilly. I don't bring them into the house any more, just in case, neither Suki or Abby get outside. I can never smell anything from Asiatics Tig but I have a tall dusky pink with no label, I think it's one of the tree lilies and the smell is wonderful.

Baferarri being an Oriental is scented, but it's quite delicate for a lily not the wonderful heady perfume of African Queen which is a proper regal lily. This is my lovely Hawkshead Fuchsia, the white plant behind it was grown from seed that Jasmine sent me a few years ago, it's a really good do'er it comes back each spring and sits in that corner and grows up supported by the fence. I know it's in the pea family, but can't for the life of me remember the name. Anyone got any ideas.

The white plant to the left is my "Gaura". It's becoming a favorite of mine. L really like the airy look of the plant. you can't really tell from the pic, but the centers have a faint touch of pink and compliment the hot pink roses.

Lovely pics Jilly, blc, the Fuchsia looks great, especially with the unknown pea plant behind it. I've seen Halkshead growing before but it really did'nt look as good as yours, it kind of lost itself if you know what I mean. I've tried a few times with Gaura but don't really have a situation they like.

I've tried a few times with Gaura but don't really have a situation they like. I have them on each side of the garage. The other one kind of leans toward the sidewalk. I may have to move it towards the rose bush a bit. I think they tolerate a lot of soil types. Where are you?

In Northern Ireland and we have a lot of rain blc, but that's only part of the problem, the main problem is that my garden gets packed to the rafters and half the time plants don't get the space to grow or are shaded out totally by the numerous containers I have.

Do you have heaths and heathers? I had heath at our old house, wanted to bring it but the root system is very woody. Bought some online from a site and it arrived dead. That might have been the heather. I have planters with heath on the deck. I'm trying to get them to grow so that I can hang them in the winter for some greenery.

We all had garden threads on here but photobucket has taken them away. Yea I know. I had a ton of images stored there. Try imgur.com that's where I have a lot of my stuff now. Proboards doesn't a;; for pics from photobucket to be used in custom pages, so I had needed another storage site for certain things and imgur is pretty good. What I have found though is when you want to post a pic and you click on that image, the urls for posting in the right, you take the second one, but watch the extension, that is the last few letters and if it ends with a v, take the next one down. I have no idea why that v gets tags on but I have had times where it didn't post for some reason. They don't like people posting copyrighted material either, like photobucket, but they are not fanatics about it and most of the people here aren't doing that anyway.

Not sure on Imgur blc, they changed their ToS over a year ago and people on Support are warning about them as well... When I see this, from Imgur, I must say that it doesn't win my approval. You might try putting it in a container and see if that is better. Maybe stack a couple of bricks or something to elevate it a bit. I have my husband drill larger drainage holes in some of my pots.

I will just admire it in other gardens blc, . I don't like the sound of what Rosefriend posted about imgur but I'm going to check out nickpic.host/ . Anyhow, back on topic, my white Agapanthus is just coming into flower for the 1st time and I'm delighted.

That's Galega Jilly - mine did 2 years and then disappeared I got a Hawkshead last year and planted it and forgot about it. Then came across a pile of sticks in spring that I couldn't remember what they were and then as the sticks slowly came out I realised it was my Hawkshead - love it - always loved the pics of yours.

Thanks Jasmine, a few days after I took that pic & me bragging about how it behaved and clung onto the fence, the wind & rain arrived I got a bit constructive with some old growhouse shelves and sort of propped it back into position.

The wind and rain is a disaster in this country Jilly, well done on the rescue bid. I have always thought about doing the open gardens thing when I retire but one day of wind and rain can change a fairly immaculate garden into a tangled mess

Wow Jasmine, what a lovely combination of whites. Good to know you managed to rescue it from the winds. The weather can be Heartbreaking. I always admire Pam for making such a show of her garden and opening to the public. Soooo brave. Especially when always the weather can c.ck up and the stress that causes. Not for the faint hearted. Therefore I will not, although they did ask.

Yes take cuttings Rosefriend, they're really easy this time of year, just use your preferred method. Real Hawkshead is quite rare, as if you can't buy it at a GC when you can see it in flower, a lot of the ones you buy on line have something of the pink about them, real Hawkshead is pure white.

Lots of fuchsia cuttings in your cellar over winter Rosefriend! I have a vision of a white garden...or more likely a white flower bed...just a dream at the moment - I am not making any more beds or borders!

No it didn't Jasmine, I was really annoyed/upset about it - I had it wrapped up like a babe in the GH- fine until we hit the late frosts in March and then it went.... I left it and thought I had a chance but when I looked at the roots it was useless. I asked Olaf today if he had one and he didn't have...shame - I loved it.
