Following the hideousness of this morning's greyness and snowfall, the sky cleared for a bit and shone nicely on the old cedar, and then high in the sky but looking like a wisp of smoke, hundreds of geese came over, probably headed for the recently harvested beetfields nearby OM

Post by Spruance on Jan 8, 2010 22:19:13 GMT
We've had around six inches (15cm) of snow today so here are some photos I took to record the event.... Snow on Pieris Forrestii in front garden. Pieris again with Ceanothus in the background. A similar shot of Viburnum Farreri. Viburnum Farreri again. Irish Golden Yew in back garden. Front Garden. Front wall border. Front wall again. Looking north towards the main road. This is the main road in a shot I took on the way back from posting a letter. It looks quite a nice day so far doesn't it, but actually all of the above were taken around 1pm, whilst the following were taken around 10:30am when it was still snowing..... Now where did I park that car? Looking north to main road. Looking south along our road. Back garden and 'little' greenhouse. Back garden and 'big' greenhouse. Back garden and frost covered trees. Back garden and bird table.

It all looks so lovely Spruance does'nt it. for picture 3, your Virburnum, trying to bud in this awful weather. I do feel for the poor birds, it's so difficult for them to find food.
