What lovely Tulips Plocket. I have Black Parrot in the garden and some lovely yellow ones that I don't know the name of. The Ballerina tulips at the top look very good and are a really vibrant colour.
Well that's for my Fridge door - oh sorry - I have a clipboard attached to the fridge door and every time I see a plant that I would like it gets added to the list....

Sounds like an excellent plan Pip - I can certainly recommend the Ballerina tulips, even if it's just for the scent

I never really liked tulips until recently either Chuckles, but there are some stunning ones available! After getting keen, I got some of ours from Dee at Hidden House Bulbs - she's got a wonderful selection.

Hopefully it's maintenance. I know she's had some problems recently but I hope it hasn't meant she's stopped her business. Keep checking Aprilaydee and hopefully all will be well shortly.

Me too Plocket and Isabella - never really wanted to grow tulips - Last year in Holland I visited a shop devoted to them (well you would get a tulip shop in Holland wudnt you ;D)
There were so many pretty ones on sale, books on tulips, framed pix, cups, mugs, stationery
So I bought a packet of Angelique bulbs PLUS a framed print of them growing in Holland against an abstract landscape
Dutchy kindly gave me some bulbs too when I saw her last year in Holland - and so I became a fan of tulips
They are in semi-bud at the moment but will post a piccy soon

I'm looking forward to seeing them Jenny!
You couldn't ask for much more from a flower could you Chuckles? If you get them I'll tell LP because the Ballerina's are hers - she'll be thrilled if you have some too.

Plocket, that tulip acuminata is so dainty. I love it. Do you keep it in a pot? Jenny how good your Prinses Irene are fine. It can at times be a bit of a bother. Here is one I do not remember the name of. I cal it Frilly Queens Day tulip though this year it won't make it till monday the 30 th april. The hot weather drove it past its prime already.

It is isn't it. Sometimes I think there are but minute differences between some tulips and the growers use it to make more money. Not that one can mind very much with such lovely blooms.
