They do look fab. It is not often that you see such a growing habit with white flowers with maroon (pardon the expression) backsides. And the easy easy bit of the description by T&M makes them out as something every one can grow. Even when sowing them too late. In my garden the Chrysanthemums look like this They are whites but when it gets colder the pink appears. After the decent wet spells the brown also moves in ;D The Viburnum bodnantense Dawn has begun and not only makes things look as if Spring arrived but it also smells so nice. That is one shrub I would not want to mis.

Still got loads in flower. Here's a few pics. Obviously some of the colour at this time of year is provided by winter bark colour, berries or foliage colour.....looks good all the same Yucca gloriosa against a nice morning sunrise Lemon scented verbena still going strong Unknown variety of Hebe Cottoneaster cornubia with lots of "blackbird food" Phormium tenax purpurea Celphalotaxus fastigiata aurea Salix alba chermesina.....my favourite winter bark colour And finally, the dead stems of miscanthus zebrina which give as good a display now as they do in summer

Lovely photos Andy. That miscanthus looks fabulous. I've always hankered after a miscanthus nepalencis (sp?) the golden tassle grass but they are not terribly hardy. Very pretty hebe too.

Ah so nice to see so much still out there to enjoy. Andy if ever you find the name for that Hebe let me know I bought some without label that are exactly the same ( though not in flower right now ) Chuckles I love that night scented stock the one on the site underneath it looks very tempting too. What a plant yours is. It would look so good in my garden too Did it set seed? In my garden the Heleborus are slowly getting the idea. One holihock still has one flower and Vinca minor is flowering.

Brugmansia but it was moved into the breezeway (enclosed porch type thing) in October. Does that count? There's a mouse living in the pot too!

We're in the mid 40's F today but have been in the teens F. too. The mouse doesn't flower and hope he / she doesn't have a large family to feed either.

Tig is no 4 a clematis? Dutchy is that some kind of vinca the little blue one? Thanks for posting such lovely pics everyone. You are welcome, It is Vinca minor which seems to love flowering whenever there is no frost. The shoots make a mess but the flowers are well worth it.

Oh they are lovely! I'd forgotten but I've got some hebe's in flower too. I always think flowers in winter make such an effort - goodness knows why I think that when it's what comes naturally to a lot of them!

Just had a mooch around the garden and can't believe this carpet rose is STILL flowering after the snow and ice we've had! The wallflowers are merrily flowering away and smell divine .......and I can't remember the name of this . It gets tiny pale blue flowers on in late summer . I know it's not a flower but still gives some lovely colour! Anybody any ideas as to what it is? S x
