I have looked at the three rose pics half a dozen times now and I think that number two is a definite nomination for the POTM. Very good Susie. Ist Nomination RF

Well Wee T it's already got 3 nominations anyway so it'll be in the competition. I don't think there's a limit on the number of pictures you can nominate, is there ? I just thought that if you like a picture, you can nominate it regardless of how many others you've already nominated. Perhaps someone can correct me if I'm wrong.

Hi Wee - there is no problem - you can nominate as many pics as you want - you just can't nominate your own obviously - so.....what have you got your eye on then.....

I think you said it has blue flowers in late summer? Could it be a Ceratostigma?

Gosh Rita, I've seen roses less healthy in summer, how healthy those leaves look and it's a lovely colour. ;D

Gosh Rita, I've seen roses less healthy in summer, how healthy those leaves look and it's a lovely colour. ;D I rescued the rose from a mother's day gift a couple of years ago. ;D It's in a very sheltered spot by my front door BTW.

Thank you Ladies!!! It's not the pic that excites me so much as the plant itself! It's been raining all day so haven't been able to get out and cut the leaves off. But when I do I'll take a pic of all the zillions of buds!!!!
Reason I'm so excited is I've grown Hellebores for years, including niger which never flowered at Christmas but used to put on a good show this time of year. Trouble is, my soil being so light and sandy, they don't thrive for long and eventually disappear altogether (despite leaf mould mulches and stuff).
No doubt this one will eventually go the same way but I should be able to get plenty of seedlings if I look smart!!

Not sure if this qualifies under the still in flower header, but these lilies were potted up in October and placed in the unheated GH to give them a head start for next summer. Only problem is that the stupid plants have been flowering since early December. They make good cut flowers though.

When will a thread open for us to vote on the ultimate Photo Of The Month? Looks like we are in for difficult choices.

When will a thread open for us to vote on the ultimate Photo Of The Month? As I understand it, the first 3 weeks of the month are for nominations, and the final week is for voting. Andy will be able to clarify this though.
