I would expect it to be covered although I am not familiar with TSB.
It doesn't necessarily put up the premium unless your policy has a no claim discount scale.
Why don't you just ask the question - you've nothing to lose?

You should be allowed to make ONE claim without the premiums going up surely? Oh where's Mick our resident Insurance expert???

Thats what I said but if it is based on a no claim discount basis it won't work.

And secondly, Dutchy has done a lovely garden diary I wonder if that's something we could have along with the lovely garden photos and comments threads, but as a new personal thread - if people wanted of course. That way we can make notes of what we've done in the garden and when. Other people might get ideas from the diaries, and at the very least it will be useful to look back over next year. Hi Plocket and anyone else interested in having a personal thread in the form of a diary. In My Garden/Allotments the actual garden threads have been made into Sticky threads, whilst the comment threads per person are floating. We suggest that anyone wanting to have a Garden Diary should either start on their own Comments thread or open one new thread called "X's Garden Diary 2007" for example. Hope that this helps. OM/Rosefriend

I've just been for a walk round the garden to have a check round and to put some bits out for the birds. It's amazing how much stuff is shooting

Yes it feels rather spring-like out there doesn't it? I can't believe I've got a snap dragon flowering at the same time as my Witch Hazel!!!

My summer flowering jasmine has flower buds on it, and the roses havent given up flowering since last summer, although some are doing it without leaves, which looks peculiar. My indoor Hyacinths have begun to flower, and smell fabulous! And my Amaryllis are going great guns now... the light levels have improved significantly the last few days even with this weather, and it was still fairly light at 4.45 yesterday, so perhaps that is what is encouraging plants to put on this growth?

Well the days are gradually getting longer but I don't think it's only that - the weather really does seem unusually warm for this time of year - and that's said by a Southerner now in the north-ish part of the country!
I've been watching the birds today - they seem to be about much more in the last week or so, so perhaps they think spring is here too. Great tits, blue tits, robins and blackbirds in particular.

When you think about it a calendar is an artificial way to look at the seasons, the weather is the only reliable way for nature to order itself, perhaps we ought to think about sowing our seeds earlier this year?
The summers are so dry, we may have to re-order our way of looking at things so that we can have some success in the garden.
The lilac tree at the bottom of my garden is putting out leaves, not looking forward to the flowers much...allergies.... and there are swelling buds on the apple tree and the plums on the lottie, Im pretty sure that didnt happen till March or thereabouts last year.
Oh and the hardwood cuttings I put in a few months back have definitely rooted and are starting to put out leaves.

I love Hyacinths, meant to get some but forgot again , I had some growing somewhere in the gdn, I guess I could go find them and dig them up and pot up. I think you have a point about starting sowing early sweetleaf, the seasons have changed so much. It would certainly suit me and probably others too. What's the news on your GH. The birds disappeared for a while and are now back in my gdn too Plocket, the Robin is being very territorial at the moment. Hope your worms are happy in their new home . Will be keeping an eye on your Diary Thread in the Gallery Been up to see OH on a job just up the road, he's doing a block paved drive and has had to take the corner of the gdn out. Just happened to come across a few bits that had broken off 2 clumps of Osteospernum, they wanted them saving so he'd put them on one side, also happened to find some seeds pods from a Chinese Lantern just lying around Goody goody I love plants for free, must pot up the Osteospernums, wonder what colour they are

Afternoon all I've just had a wander round the garden with a little one, and buried among the thousands of oak leaves [some of which I managed to sweep into a pile which undoubtably will end up back in the flower beds ] I noticed lots of fresh, new growth at the base of my Sedum. As we are bound to get a frosty/ snowy extra cold spell does this mean I am likely to lose it, or should it try again after a cold spell?

I actually bought some proper bulb fibre this time and there is definitely a difference in the health of the plants, so Im glad its quite a big bag, as Ill be using it again. The GH is still dead, but plans are afoot for repair AND replacement as Id like to put this one on the lottie, Ill let you know how that works out! Lucky you that the Osteospermum bits just happened to fall into your hand I could do with a bit of similar luck! I love chinese lanterns too, their name really suits em ;D

I had a bit of a disaster yesterday, (again) and had to bring in a lot of plants from my busted GH I had a closer look at some of them this morning, and they seem to have come in with some tenants, bit worried that they will move on to other plants so Ive defoliated them crossing my fingers that that will be enough, the insects in question are flat brownish-red sap suckers..cant beleive they are aphids at this time of year, but evidence seems to point in that direction, what Id give for a ladybird!

I posted a poser about my Nemesia cuttings the other day, they had been living in my conservatory for months with worms and earwigs living in them. Much as I appreciate worms I don't fancy the idea of them wriggling around in pots indoors! The cuttings are looking beyond repair to me after emergency action. It is very frustrating, they had been doing so well, no doubt the wildlife was getting desperate for food and the roots looked irrisistable! My mini greenhouse is still on its side in the garden with a torn cover, so I will invest in something stronger for next year. Maybe OH should have go me one of those instead of a bath spa, bless him. Hope your plants survive ok.

You may well need the bath spa after a days graft in the garden though Jonah! I have no faith in my plastic GH any more, the wind ripped the panels out, although they were fitted as per instructions, its a bit too frail for the purpose... A glass one would have been better, my children being all grown up, I dont have to worry about glass any more.... well until the GC`s start arriving anyway, and no sign of that, thank god!
Not that it wouldnt be nice to get my hands on a baby again, but my young-uns just arent ready for the responsibility. ;D

Money and space are a big factor for us and a greenhouse, we haven't got either! ;D I may even concentrate on a half decent coldfame instead of an upright shelved unit, very windy on our patch [and I'm not talking about the OH in the evenings.... ;D] Babies are quite nice, but thet do get in the way! Planning on sending youngest to playschool 2 afternoons from June, so I might be able to have a little garden time this year! Much as I love her, I can't wait for some me quality garden time. Best be off now to do something before she wakes up! ;D
