Enlightenment young grasshopper is not achievable for most; instead one strives to become an Arhat and achieve liberation from the cycle of uncontrolled rebirth and to achieve nirvana.

Aha! I thought there must be a weekend thread so I've deleted the one I started! I'm hoping to keep cutting hedges even though I know it's getting a bit late. I also want to tidy up all the bits of garden I can see from the kitchen window as if I don't I know it will grieve me all winter! I've got quite a few bulbs in pots I want to put in the ground too. The weather looks pretty soggy and grey though.......what's everyone else up to?

But this is an OLD thread 4P - you could have started a new one!!!
We are doing the usual ballet and swimming routine this morning, and then LP has a party to go to this afternoon. Tomorrow we are going out to David Austin to get my rose, and probably a garden centre to buy a pot for it to grow in! We'll have lunch out somewhere too.
Have a good one everybody!

... For once, feeling very smug for the weekend. Yesterday more or less finished tidying garden after the scaffolding attack, went into town to buy horicultural fleece and ended up with a 50c French tarragon plant - the garden shop was selling off old herbs. Not a very happy plant, but hopefully it'll survive with lots of TLC. Also got garlic bulbs. Planted both this morning, made a duvet for my beloved Fuchsia Thalia (since a few stems survived the builders, I'll be *&&^%ed if I let it succumb to frost), tucked the offcuts between the pots in the cold frame ... and there's most of the weekend still to go ;D ... cheers ...

Been to a GC and bought a Scots Pine (chantry blue) to clip into a 'cloud pine' form..VERY chuffed..it's already been potted up into a nice large terracotta pot. It will eventually go into the ground in the front garden all being well. I set to and did a spot of trimming..just a little bit as I can always take more off can't I?!...planted a few bellis daisies and a few cyclamen in the border to add a splash of colour. Making a huge pot of quorn chilli for tomorrow..half for me to take to work and half for Godzilla to have for his tea. I'm on call tomorrow..9am Sunday 'till 9am Monday....but hiopefully I'll get on the MB if we get a quiet spell!

A bit tired today - looked after Lily from late morning till after tea yesterday - she can certainly move fast now!!!
Done a bit of housework, bit of ironing (hate it hate it hate it) and arranged some flowers in baskets for a friend.
Tomorrow- depending on the weather I will probably do a bit of gardening - and I still haven't made the Apple Chutney yet!!
