Hello. My name is TT and I'm a plantaholic. It is so nice to know that I am not alone and there are real people who understands my problem. Another GC catalogue arrived at my door all on its own apparently, and now I'm looking at getting:
3 hellebores - black, red and white for a good colour combination
1 fothergilla
1 more rhodo
1 hydrangea (Little Honey)
1 clematis (fascination)
Ummm. GC doesn't start stocking plants for at least another month or so. I wonder if .......

18. Oooh. That is so lovely. I have to get it. It's so difficult to find shade shrubs that give rich foliage colour in the fall .

21. It's obviously not being properly cared for in the shop, so the least I can do is give it a good home;
22. If I don't buy it I'll be kicking myself, will come back to buy it tomorrow and they'll be sold out, so ...

24... Oooh they look nice!!! Which is EXACTLY why I came home with 8 ivy leaf Geraniums earlier (plug you grow, you know the ones!) when I don't usually even LIKE geraniums!!! Very pretty lilacy/lavendery colour with contrasting white with lilacy/lavendery throat! Also bought 'Plum Sorbet' Busy Lizzie seeds, vermiculite and advanced slug killer. My window sills are rapidly filling up!!!!! 25......

Just went to the GC for some aquatic plants for the fish tank and come out with a passiflora quadrangularis (massive scented flowers the size of an outstreched adult hand) and then i've just been to Tesco and there was a stunning indoor Aralia (dizygotheca elegentissima) I've got nowhere to put them

Only cost £30 but it's about 7 feet tall and multi branched....only just got it in my ickle Rover

It's absolutely superb. I potted it on a few months ago and put it on the dining room table in the conservatory. But it's grown so much that i've had to put it on the floor.
Got a small Japanese banana too....these grow to 5m high so i'm hoping for megga things this year in the tropics !!!!!!

My name is Juliet & I think I must be a plantaholic too ... just been saying this on the Beeb: Went to Homebase today to get some sealant & a new paint tray - also came out with 1 large Cornus kesselringii, because it was in the sale ... & the one I had last year died 1 white Lavandula stoechas, because I think I'm less allergic to French lavender so I thought I'd give it a go & see if I'm right! 1 Vinca minor gertrude jekyll, & 1 yellow Primula of the common cowslip variety (both because I need things to be in flower while we're selling the house) ... and then on to a garden centre, where I bought 3 tiny plants: 1 yellow Helianthemum to go with the little white Saxifraga I bought the other week & the white Pulsatilla I bought yesterday - thought I'd do a sort of rockery planter (... & they should all be in flower while we're selling) 1 white Lychnis & 1 Geum borisii because I wanted some more pots of the same size (er ... bought 7 tiny perennials last time I went to that GC, & 10 of their pots would fit perfectly in my mini greenhouse!) - & I think my Geum that the vine weevils ate last year has croaked ... & if it hasn't, it doesn't matter, does it? - you can never have too many Geums!) A tray of orange Pansies to brighten up the bed under the window in the front garden while we're selling - gets shade all day & the only other thing I can get to grow in it is Leucojum aestivum (which have nearly finished, though they're not supposed to flower until April ... but then, it did get up to 18 c in my garden today!) Oh - and 2 packets of seeds because I had a BOGOF voucher - got some poached egg plants & some more horned poppies (R said that having a voucher for seeds didn't mean I had to buy seeds if I didn't actually need them ... what is he talking about ) OK, I think I've covered several of your numbers & added some more: 27 I needed to buy the plant to test a theory 28 Having plants in flower in the garden will help to sell the house 29 I had to buy the plants because I wanted the pots they were in 30 ...
