There is no cure - the less room you have for plants the more the compulsion to get some. The more you know you shouldn't the more you want to. When there is absolutely no room left for any more plants and you still end up coming home with armfuls of plants and your children start questioning why you are buying so many plants like you are some species nothing to do with them and you still just cannot stop and have no intention of stopping it is then you can call yourself well and truly addicted. It gets worse after that - then you start hiding the new ones hoping noone notices, adrenalin rushing through your whole being......

Hello, my name is Jonah and I am so pleased to have found some fellow sufferers. ;D We bought the paint for our porch and hall today, but somehow two pots of fritillaries and a lime green trug tub managed to appear in our trolley. Very restarained though, don't you think, the rehab must be working to some degree.

Hello! I'm Plocket, and I'm a plantaholic AND a clemaholic ;D It's so good to meet fellow "sufferers" but I have been advised that there is no cure - not even after concreting over your garden!
TC I think Bridgemere is especially tempting - when I go I spend a fortune, on plants AND in Hobbycraft!

Plocket, I have heard of that affliction, the one where you don't buy yourself anything. If I remember correctly it is called Dontwantanythingitis. It is only a temporary affliction you will be pleased to know. There are two known causes that I know of [I'm sure there are more] - the sufferer has a temporary memory shift and thinks that they have no more room in the garden to plant anything, or there mind is infiltrated with other things ie shoes for small children etc. I have not heard of anyone having the symptons for long, pretty soon they realise that a] of course there is always room for one more plant and b] the childrens feet [and legs, and arms etc.] grow all the time, so wasting money on providing these items is a false economy. So the brain returns to it's correct state and the compulsive plant buying can continue - as it should! ;D

I think we need to sort out this 12 (could be lots more) step strategy to understand a plantaholic, please help to warn others of what they are in for.
1. There will always be room for one more plant - even if it means eventually rearranging the whole garden.
2. ......

Hello my name is borderbabe and I'm a plantaholic. Yesterday I bought a tuber of Cosmos Sanguillia (?), some petunia seedlind and some basket plants - I passed the GC 'cos I used the motorway to get home and get around the roadworks.
I even feed my addition abroad and will shortly be in France buying balconly geraniums and whatever else Baobab has available.
Please help - its ruining my life (not!)
