Oh dear FA - things are not getting any better for Ipswich are they? I think maybe Keane's days are numbered if he doesn't pull something out of the bag soon.

As a foreigner/outsider, I'm just wondering why is there such "hatred" as one person described it between the fans. I can understand (sort of) "fans" of 2 different countries that may have had a history of war/occupation/atrocities between them, etc, not liking each other because of the history between the 2 countries, but people who just happen to live in different parts of the same city, same country and support the club they live closest to? What happens when any of them move to somewhere else?. Sounds real crazy to me. I just don't understand it.

Well i suspect that the few who start the trouble, are not fans of any club, they just go along for the oppotunity to cause trouble, and start fights,it seems they never had tickets,so how could they be fans, who wanted to see the game

What surprises me is that as Andy said this must have been as predicable as the Sun rising in the morning. So why have you got stewards having to restrain and stop PLAYERS from getting to the crowd in celebration of a goal. One can only hope they were their own supporters. Perhaps not all the "dull" tools are in the supporters toolbox!

What happens when any of them move to somewhere else?. Sounds real crazy to me. I just don't understand it. It IS crazy TT but sadly it happens the world over with football. I remember a few years ago, when Juventus played Torino (both clubs are based in Turin) in Italy. The Juventus fans threw a motorbike from the top tier of the stand onto the Torino fans in the lower tier. I make a comment now and again about Norwich because they are Ipswich's big rivals but to me it's all banter and friendly. I have several Norwich supporting friends and I enjoy the banter, win or lose. I could never bring myself to violence over football but unfortunately, some (as Andy rightly calls them) "knuckle-draggers" are sadly lacking in the brain department and it's just like tribal warfare to most of them. I suspect that FB is right - most of the trouble makers last night weren't even Millwall or West Ham fans. They were just a bunch of low-life scumbags intent of having a "right good tear up". They make me sick. The sad thing is, anyone with half a brain could've predicted this kind of thing was going to happen. Being Carling Cup, I can't see that it would've been played on a lunchtime but why oh why were away fans allowed in ? It's beyond stupid if you ask me. FA x

It is a sad thing, Andy; and brainless too. At the end of the day it is simply a game that has absolutely no impact on a fan's life, (unless someone chooses to wager more money than they could afford to lose), and tomorrow is another game. Why anyone would want to injure/harm another person over it simply because the two like different teams is beyond me. But yes, it does seem like the "authorities" should have seen it coming and done a better job of preventing it from erupting to that level.
The other thing that happens, given some of what I've seen in Trinidad in past years, is that sometimes individuals/groups of individuals/gangs use occasions like sporting or other big public events to "settle" old scores/feuds that have absolutely nothing to do with the event. here in Toronto it is always a concern that gangs/individuals would use the Caribana Parade event as an occasion to settle scores. there have been a couple of nasty incidents in the past.

Decidedly underwhelmed by Ipswich's deadline day signings - Grant Leadbitter and Carlos Edwards from Sunderland. Not exactly "big names" to excite the crowd but Roy Keane has worked with them before so I guess he knows what he's doing. We need to start putting together some decent results so lets hope that these 2 give us the kick up the backside we need.

Don't get carried away folks. We haven't played anyone good yet ! I think Capello is doing a good job but won't fall for the hype of "we're going to win it" like the media undoubtedly will.

I think with the way they are going FA they are has good as any team. We have had some hard games. The only one i thougt were a hard team to beat was Holland. But i have a good feeling for Engalnd next year injuries hopefully not included

I daren't add my thoughts about womens football On a lighter note, I understand that the BBC is shortly going to be previewing the 2010 World Cup. Except, that is, for viewers in Wales, Scotland & Northern Ireland, who will instead be shown the film "Out of Africa"............ ;D ;D FA x

3-0 down at ½ time. Utterly shocking from Ipswich.
I don't know how much time Roy Keane will be given if things don't improve.

Saw your obvious frustration on teletext,FA - certainly, if something isn't done soon, you'll be back playing derbies with Colchester and Norwich!!!

Yep, that was me. Unfortunately, I couldn't use the kind of language that I wanted to (or they wouldn't have put it on there ;D) but after the money Keane has spent, the players he's let go and the players he's brought in, if that's the best we can do, he's got to go. I said I would reserve judgement on him until he'd had a few games. I've given him a bit of time but I just can't see that we're better than we were under Magilton. In fact, we were pathetic on Saturday. Worst I've seen for a long time from an Ipswich team.
If Curbishley is available, they should bite the bullet, get rid of Keane and bring him in pronto or you're right - we could be back facing Norwich & Colchester next season in the 3rd tier of English league football.

Another Saturday, another defeat for Ipswich. 11 games, 0 wins, 5 draws, 6 defeats. Not good enough. They have to sack Keane now before it's too late. We don't want to be in the position Norwich were in last season when they didn't sack their manager until after Christmas and by then it was too late to save them from relegation.
