I had a go at sorting out my perennial border. I moved a few things, dug a few things out and had a general sort out. It has looked crap all season and looks even crapper now!!! If it doesn't look better next year, I'm pullin' the lot out and starting again!!!

i planted a new rose but decided that the honeysuckle near by would cast too much shade so i dug it out( the honeysuckle). it looks much better as the border has opened out. a sensible person wouldn.t have planted the rose there in the first place but i just love hard work

Raked and swept up the leaves again, pulled up my tomato plants and put them in the garden re-cycle bin, set out pots ready for planting more bulbs when I get back from my hols. Will no doubt be sweeping up the leaves again either tomorrow or Friday before I go .

Picked a few more cougettes that I had missed, swept the leaves off the drive (again) - and I have a new Acer to go in - but I think it is going to be too cold tonight - so I changed my mind about planting it - hope for a warm spell

Turned my compost (well I moved the bin and heaped it back in) Removed the last of my courgettes, and dug over the area. Tidied the borders and removed dandies and thistles from the lawns (inbetween searching for the words in the quiz!!).

Although I am not supposed to be doing any gardening, some delphiniums I ordered a while back arrived, so I had to pot them up. OH got everything out ready for me so I didn't have to lift anything, just put compost and plants into pots. Then he tidied everything away. It felt good just to be doing something though.

Sowed some Sweet Peas, potted on some Penstemon cuttings and some Hollyhock seedlings. Composted the reamining Tomato plants. Turned all 3 compost heaps - one got spread out onto a bit of border which I'd chopped back/dug out a couple of weekends ago. Swept the patio of leaves (although not really sure why I bothered doing this) Cleared fallen leaves out of the pond - as above, not sure why as there will be more Had lunch in the garden....YES, it was warm enough to sit out

gosh I've worked so hard in the garden this afternoon, my back is aching, pulled up the last of my sweet pea, dug over and really tidied up the bottom border, moved the buddlea black night and it all looks so much better. I also added some compost from the darlek and split the primula and moved some bulbs, hope I have'nt killed anything.

Too much - I have cut the neighbours evergreen hedge which runs down one side of our garden - I should have stopped half way, but I was determined to hack off all the overhanging greenery - I was totally frazzled and boiling hot! Still at least the birds can nest in it now without me disturbing them again Tig

First time for days I've felt well enough, one of those weeks, so I've had a go at tidying the greenhouse ready for turn out & clean next week, last weeks killing of the algae and moss outside has worked a treat.
