Our Wilkos didn't have any garlic only onion sets when I went in last week, it hasn't been very well stocked this autumn at all.
Spotted another hazel sapling growing behind magnolia susan so I crawled under and dug it out along with a couple of weeds. Deadheaded dahlias & calendulas again, they are still flowering well and feeding the pollinators.
Planted the camassias, dutch iris carmen & dwarf iris gordon I'd bought. Wanted to get some daffs in but it started to rain and doesn't look like it's going to stop.

Think they've got delivery problems here Barbara - quite a lot of empty shelves in Wilkies this year.

Think they've got delivery problems here Barbara - quite a lot of empty shelves in Wilkies this year. I can make do with what I've already got I think Barbara, appreciate the offer though. If push comes to shove I'll plant some bought 'eating' garlic cloves but I did save quite a few elephant garlic cloves from this years crop. Made up for the lack of tulips with online orders, more expensive than Wilkies though. I'm hoping that things will return to normal after Christmas!

They arrived safely and postie is still in one piece Now for planting them. Today is a Nono due to torentious rain but someday soon eh? Nice thing of Fluweel is you always get a pressie and I got given 20 more red tulips Madame Lefebre so I am chuffed. Instead of 50 I now have 70 new tulips to plant and then need to do the remaining ones from last year so wel over a hundred. Oops

Lovely bulbs Dutchy and a good price but delivery to Ireland is very expensive and the UK even more. Fingers crossed for your magnolia maggy. Things are always a bit more special when they're grown from cuttings or seeds I think, rather than going out and buying them. I've been planting up some Rose "Grace" cuttings that I took from my own garden in september 2020. Lovely roots on them and one of them bloomed this year. Also I've divided Cordyline "Can can" into 4 new plants all have a bit of root on them and all are now in their own containers to grow on. I've topped up the bird feeders and started putting out the square fat and insect blocks for the birds, they're coming in droves now and seem really hungry.

Japanese onion set all in now, nothing else to plant now, just compost and leaves to do when it's decent weather .

I emptied the potato pots and put the compost on the new flower bed. I started to plant up one corner of the new bed and got a few other things planted in the hot bed. We have got quite good temps for a while so I thought that would be better than leaving the plants in pots over winter.

Heleniums can can, wesergold & rubinzwerg (5 of each), 20 breeders mix echinaceas, 15 seed grown peonies, a seed grown tree peony, 2 upright dierama and a red phlox all planted out. I dug out an ornamental ivy that came with a heuchera in a pot a couple of years ago, it was quite rampant though. Moved the phlox paniculata olympus as it was crowded out by a tall white one, should do better next year. Pooped and aching a bit but that is almost everything planted out now, warmer in the ground than the pots as you say Jasmine. Found loads of weeds I'd missed so dug those out as I was finding spaces, some had set seed though so more to look forward to next year Oh I watered the chillies still in the WIG, I'd not bothered while it was wet & cold, but they are still growing OK. A tray with some compost had blown off the shelf so I had to sweep it out first.

Coleus cleared & calladiums lifted and now drying in one of the growhouses. Japanese anemones hacked back as they were blocking the path and access to the compost bin. Daylily Open My Eyes planted out & the agaves are undercover for the cooler months.

Poor you Missredhead, get the council on the job. We did lots of tidying on the allotments this morning, came home and had coffee and sandwiches, then..... Derek used the hoe to get the moss out of the cracks in the paving stones on the back patio, he swept it all up into the compost box, I've hoed the back beds and moved all my spring pots to the front, I keep them under the table all summer, then I planted tulips in the box by the front door, and put some primula in the trough I took the sweet peas out of, I'm having a well earned cup of tea now.

I tackled the dandelions, don't know how I didn't spot the foliage but they were hefty roots. Collected some tithonia seeds and deadheaded calendulas again.

You will be surprised (not) to hear that I swept up some leaves....the start of things to come 😂 That is a surprise Missy...not! And it did it all over again today...😏 Barbara..the trees that drop the leaves belong to a private house so nothing to do with the council...although the alley at the back belongs to the council so I do ring and tell them that when wet they are a hazard to walk on and sometimes they and someone out to clear them but not in our gardens unfortunately..

p.s. Tig if you haven't got any garlic yet why not buy fresh ones at the greengrocers, let them be on a shaded windowsill for a week and then open up and plant out. I never buy planters but either use my best ones form harvest or buy a fresh one for eating. They do as well for planting out. Forget all the warnings, the supermarket ones or GGs are fine and cheaper.

Coming down fast here as well Missredhead, 4 trees back onto or garden, not as many as yours but still a pest. I've been cutting back and pulling out dead stuff, then awful drizzle started so I'm back in now I got 2 baskets of stuff to compost.
