Mine is in shade until mid morning, and I did notice that some of the lower buds stayed greener, so it could be a sun thing LG, we'll see when they get their heads up :-)

I spotted a 'new' one flowering today. It must be a rescued one that didn't have a label as I don't remember planting any white ones in this position, the leaves are paler and larger than most of my others, anyone recognise it?

I thought someone might have recognised it, you never know with all the clematis growers on here - I'll have a trawl through those and see if any look likely candidates - thanks Chuckles

There are so many possibilities when you search yourself and as you say we do have quite a few clem growers on here. I didn't recognise it and just did a quick search on Hulls site because its a site I've used in the past, there were 3 or 4 possibilities if I recall. I was curious coz I liked it but my bed was calling after a couple of hectic days It doesn't pay to look on there to often as I've seen some butes that I'd love Heres hoping someone has got it or had it I have a couple out atm that I've no idea what they are, will try and get pics.

Did you have any luck with your Clem Tig, I came across a pic of Arctic Queen on here www.floydsclimbers.co.uk/clematis/double-flower/arctic-queen and thought it was a possibility but when I looked at it on Hulls site it looked totally different petals were more pointy. These are the two I'm hoping someone will recognise, they were from my inlaws so have no idea what they are. The underneath looks similar to Huldine but it isn't as this has a pale pink bar along the petals and a slightly frilly edge and is a bigger flower than Huldine, and I have Huldine This one has frilly edges to the petals too

None of the ones on the Hull site were a perfect match Chuckles - there are a couple more buds to open so I'll see what the next flowers look like. I found a clematis wedding day with a hint of a pink band in a photo online, no pics of the underside though. The second one looks very similar to The President. Mine has pale undersides and I have seen them flowering in lots of different shades of purple, some with frilly petals

Thanks Tig I think you could be on the right track with The President the variations you get on web pics is incredible and this is why I prefer to ask on here if anyone recognises them. Even if its not one that someone on here has they may have seen it in a GC or someone elses garden.

I did'nt expect it to flower this year, perhaps the clem food helped. Feeding clems is a must to get the most from them, mine get a sprinkling of bf&bm early in the year and then tomato food throughout the growing season. I'll definately be buying one when I see one

I do normally give a liquid feed and use BFB but this year I used specific Clem food on all my Clems Chuckles, and I've been rewarded.

Hello honeybun You have a lovely c. alba luxurians, in cooler areas it start off in spring with the green bits on the flowers but as the weather warms up they should turn all white, it is a group 3 for pruning. What a great plant to inherit! I take it you've moved then?

Hi Tig, glad you think she is c.'Alba Luxurians' so I am fortunate. There is always a downside I have also inherited the Honeydew thing, which as I am sure you know is indestructible. It's a good thing I do not like Roses, I think the clems will be safe. I have a supply of 70 litre (bloody foreign spell checker) flower pots for the good stuff. So will be into container gardening! Yes we have gyrated 300 miles or so south, to a sleepy little village approx 7 miles fro Warminster and 14 from Old Sarum. Chalk is wonderful for indigestion and teachers, not sure about growing medium yet. Apparently you can use it to draw pictures on hill sides.

Rosefriend, Wie gehts mein Liebling that's enough for this early in the day and after many years away from schule. Good to "hear" you again. I have missed our little chats and late night music swapping with Tig. I have never been too far away! This post is probably in the wrong thread and I will be chastised by Big Brother. Being rusty I did not remember what else to do. xx
