I must get my seeds out and have a look what I've got. Not got so much room to have so many seeds on the go this year since I let the poly become a home for the chickens.

I'm waiting on my begonia seeds Tig, 'Queen White' from Nicky's seed. I've also ordered some New Guinea impatiens seed from them...to have as pot plants in the house as well as outside (unless we get another naff summer) Pam says that they should be covered with vermiculite rather than compost when sown.....they do better apparently ;D I've never grown begonias OR impatiens from seed before ;D excited she is. ;D ;D

I have done all my dahlias, Lavatera, Busy Lizzies, Galege Officinalis, Ageratum Blue and Purple, Asters and Anagallis - oh yes and some Hollyhocks that I forgot to do in autumn.
Also done two Datura seeds which I don't really want but my neighbour gave me some that she got when she was in Tunisia.
Rf
EDIT: I forgot to ask but I did some Pansies on Nov.6th and some still haven't got a true leaf yet - is there a trick to growing them because they are just doing nothing at all.

Rf with regard to your pansies, I sowed some viola/pansies last year, it took them ages to develop and they're planted out now but still very small so don't worry too much about them I'd say. You've been busy Tig good for you. I intend to do some sowing again tomorrow.

RF this is a pic of my pansies/viola sowed in september last year, you can see they are very very small so yours have plenty of time. I'd say when it warms up a bit they'll take off.

I have the smallest seedlings I've ever seen from the anthriniums sown on 11/1/9 I brought them into the airing cupboard on 30/1/9 as they'd done nothing. They started to come up 3/2/9 and are by the spare room window.

I sowed some tomatoes (Shirley and Roma) and some sweet mini peppers at the end of last month for those staying in a greenhouse. Will sow some more Roma next month to be planted out (I hope).
I sowed some pansies and a tray of petunias last weekend and this weekend plan to sow:
Another tray of petunias, some nemesia, cosmos, cantanache, swan river daisy, parsnips, snapdragon, tulips and probably a few more sweet mini peppers as well. I'm sure there are some other bits that I will be sowing, but that is all I can remember at the moment.
I have no idea where it is all going to go, but hey ho!

I sowed some cosmos candy stripe and cosmos cosmonaut on Sunday and they are beginning to sprout. They were on the spare bedroom window sill but they will have to go out in the lobby now to stop them getting too leggy. Didn't sow them til much later last year and so didn't get to enjoy the flowers for as long as might have been possible.

Well I'm pleased to say the 5 Cerinthe I sowed turned out to be 6 and all have germinated and are now transplanted into their own bigger pot. The seedlings are a really good size with very distinctive leaves. I've also potted on the bishops children. The anthirranium (sp) neeed thinned out but they're so small I can't touch them. I might have 3 tiny bergamont seedlings coming up but no sign at all of the Eryngium I'm afraid. I've resown the Eryngium today and also some cosmos gazebo mixed.

I've now also sowed my poppies, burgundy frills you may remember did well last year, they're saved seed. My cat knocked over the whole tray which I'd had the bergamont in but I hope I've saved the 3 tiny ones which had germinated. Sowed 2 more Gardeners Delight too.

Brilliantly busy you lot! Anyone else sown their Datura? I only sowed four seeds on 24/01, and one came up 15/02, and another 21/02 - wonder if the other two will germinate, 4 Daturas will be more than enough! My Begonia tuberosa Basket Beauties sown 2nd Feb have started coming up, they are miniscule! I also have plenty of Callistemon Rigidus, also tiny little seedlings! This is going to be a very fiddly year for potting on!

I sowed the poppy burgundy frills seed you sent me before we went on holiday LG and I've got lots and lots of little seedlings. It looks as though I will have plenty to give away as well as put in my garden! I also sowed 2 lots of sunflowers today - black magic and vanilla ice. If anyone would like some vanilla ice seeds I have lots left and am happy to send them to anyone who would like some. Has anyone tried verbena bonariensis before - I am not having much luck getting them to germinate?
