Did you sow them outside LG ? I remember someone on here used to with good results, I don't think I have anywhere now to grow them since my Montana and passion flower has taken over that side fence but I do love them.

Did you sow them outside LG ? I remember someone on here used to with good results, I don't think I have anywhere now to grow them since my Montana and passion flower has taken over that side fence but I do love them. I just checked them yesterday as I was up in my house this past week. I've left them outside to germinate this year but have the pots sitting in a trough with glass on top to keep any slugs or mice away from them. They've just started to break through the soil and I'm really pleased as the seeds were saved seeds from some I'd grown a year or 2 ago. It's worth a go @maggie, you'll always find somewhere for them.

I sowed blue spire larkspur yesterday, they are only on the kitchen window sill, I'll take them to the GH when it warms up a bit, it's forecast for colder weather this weekend

Has anyone started sowing for this year yet? Tomatoes and Cucumber too early yet I think but anything else? My fingers are starting to itch but apart from sprinkling around some hardy annuals I've not bitten the bullet.
The sweetpea I sowed last October are doing great, they've been outside through frost and rain and are still alive. I left it a bit later this year before pinching them out and planted the bits I pinched out (I've done this before and it works) into 7.5cm pots and they're growing now too so I've effectively doubled the amount I have, that's if the S&S don't get them first.

I will start the 3 toms this Wednesday. Indoors in the heated prop. I have spotted Forsythia in flower so it is time to start sowing outdoors too. Those yellow flowers signal the start of the big sowing Galore and I can but comply.

I simply dropped some perennial Lunaria ( rediviva) in the full shadow border. Maybe they like to grow into plants there. Not much grows in that dark area but hey never tried etc.
I did get scolded by the wren that has a nest near there.
