This is my one and only pelargonium seedling from my saved seed sown 18/01/10 - at least it doesn't need pricking out I may sow a few more and see how they do x Tig

They might still perk up Barbara, don't give up as yet. Missy I even spotted a little lavender in your trays. Gosh guys you are all well on your way to Spring ;D Love it. And yes my fingers are itching.... Eagle eyed Dutchy I found a packet of Lavender seeds in my box so thought that I would give them a try...have no idea if they will germinate as it's supposed to be a long winded thing but hey ho we shall see. Stick them at the bottom of your garden MRH, wait for a good dollop of bird poo to be applied and you should be away i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/cheesy.gif

Tig that's looking great, well done. I've never grown them from seeds and always just take cuttings but it would be nice perhaps to grow my own. I'll have a think about that.

I'm delighted to report my Mexican Sunflowers have germinated, perhaps I've sown them too early but I thought they would be more difficult and perhaps I'd have to resow. Many thanks to Tig for providing them. I hope they continue to grow for me.

I've started..... In the heated propagator:
Ensete ventricosum Gerbera Jamesonii Celosia Cristata 'coral garden' Aloe Variegata Lantana 'Camera' Gossypium herbaceum (cotton) In an unheated propagatorFilipendula Rubra Geum 'Lemon drops' Pseudolysimachion something.... Astilbe pink Antirrhinum 'Royal bride' and 'Kimosy' Quite restrained I thought....loads more to sow but I'll wait a few days before the '2nd wave' ;D I used John Innes seed compost, filling the 3" square pots and sitting them in water for a few minutes prior to sowing. The larger seeds had a layer of seed grade vermiculite over the top. All pots were given a good clean prior to use and after sowing were sprayed with dilute cheshunt compound. That feels soooooooooooooooooooo gooooooooooooooooooood ;D

Wow CPB you're not someone to do things by halves i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif . Can you remember where you got seed for Geum Lemon Drops from? I've got far to many seeds to sow this year as it is, but for that I might make an exception. As for me the Verbascum has germinated & is out of the propagator & the Cobaea is just coming through. I never throw my 'old' seeds away Jilly - I release them into the wild by scattering them at a somewhat appropriate time - not always in my garden, sometimes in other peoples Cheery you are so organised! I must make more effort - and perhaps a better list of what needs doing first Toms & peppers this weekend though ;D x Tig

;D - I never saw Cherry Queen Cheery!! You will succeed Dutchy I'm sure! You know they like fluctuating temperatures and at least 12 hours darkness, preferably a bit longer. I put a seed tray over mine at night and took it off the next morning so they had a good nights sleep x Tig
