The seeds seem to know that spring is in the air, my Antirrhinums are up and I only sowed them 3 days ago, the rudbneckia are coming up and the white cornflower are up too. ;D I'd been soaking beetroot on wet kitchen paper and 4 of them have roots so they're planted now too.

I sowed some cosmos cosmonaut and cosmos sweet kisses - I'm not very lucky with cosmos Auricula - I will get a third of what I've sown if I'm lucky.
I also sowed some hellebore Mrs Betty Ranicar and akebia and they have gone in the fridge for a few weeks cold.

I've not been lucky with my Cosmos Sonata this year either. I have a few on the go but will need to sow a lot more.

Sowed my petunias and ricinus today.....i'm just having a different single colour of petunias in each tub....yellow, red, deep blue, sky blue, plum, pink and deep burgundy.
Bit late with the petunias i know but hopefully they'll make it. The ricinus will be planted in the middle of each petunia tub.

Just done Cleome serrulata and Cleome hassleriana Rose Queen and I think they will as usual refuse to live. I also sowed Cerinthe major and hope it will grow. I sowed in the heated propagator but those Cerinthe seeds are big and I am unsure if this is the right way to do them. LG help.

Dutchy I sowed some late summer early autumn to make sure the seeds were good before sending them to anyone and they germinated in a couple of weeks. They did well but did'nt overwinter, I did'nt really think they would but was just testing the viability of the seeds. Yours should be fine, I sowed some in a little pot 4th March but there's no sign of anything. I should have put them into the propagator but it was full at the time. I'll give them another week or so and if nothing appears I'll resow and add bottom heat.

Don't worry you can always grow them on, the seedlings will be strong ones.

I bought some akebia quinata seeds last year and had none germinate! Found the packet, still had five in, so soaked and sown on the 17th, pot put outside. I also sowed cerinthe, rhodochiton, heliotrope dwarf marine & mixed sempervivums. 2 of the cobaea scandens sown on 6/03 have germinated! Now that is a surprise, some years not one of the little beggars has germinated! Must pot on the tithonia and the cleome soon x Tig

I sowed some dahlia collarette dandy (think that's how you spell it) on March 13th - they have nearly all come up. I liked the look of them when folk posted pictures on the board last year. I'm trying akebia too Tig - mine are in the fridge as my packet mentioned scarification. Well, it certainly worked for the splish splash last year ;D

I might have to resort to dahlia seeds 9 (never grown them from seeds before). I went to by tubers/seedlings/cuttings from my local supplier...only to be told thet their selling season has finished!! Is it easy to grow seeds? Will they flower well? Should I give it a go? I fancied Bishop's children

I have some I can send you if you want them Auricula. I was delighted with them last year from seed, they bloomed long and hard. I'm growing them again this year in case the overwintered tubers don't make it. Just pm me.
