It makes a walk all the more enjoyable when there is something to look for. But must remember to take the camera. Glad you like the idea.

Lovely RF. I see some Comfrey, and I suppose the tall purple flower could perhaps be Hesperis?

Guelder Rose is so pretty, isn't it? And seeing wild flowers adds something to any walk. Think the last one is the Crosswort, Cruciata laevipes. and there is a Stitchwort in there too, but I don't know the fifth one down.

Neither do I Wee. But do you think it could be some sort of Persicaria?

We have just been to get the summer tyres put on the car (very late) and while we were waiting I walked to the edge of the road and got some pics of the wild flowers there. I couldn't get any closer as it was a rather large ditch. Apart from the Lupins I am not sure about the names of any of the others - any ideas? RF That big one has surely got to be a Teazel hasn't it?

I don't think it's a Teasel. I have them and they don't look the same. I think it's a Mullein (Verbascum) but could be wrong.

That would be my guess too Ruthie, a Verbascum

I reckon it's a Verbascum like SR & Wee. Had a Teasel in the garden last year and if I recall the leaves are possibly the same shape but much greener and sort of have a pimply effect on them, I think

Yes, Teasel have rather pimply leaves.

Pimply? Maybe when they're young... I think this will turn out to be a teasel: and they're certainly designed for catching water, whatever it is: OM

Lovely pics Wee. Wild flowers are beautiful and I sometimes think we don't really appreciate them as much as we should I'm not appreciating Woodruff atm, I have been pulling it out by the bucket full this morning, spreads like crazy. Very pretty though

I found (silly me) some very pretty orange wild flowers and brought one back - it is now trying to take over one of my front borders - it has a hairy stem too - dont like it anymore either

I know what you mean. I transplanted a little Pink Purslane once, in another garden. Big mistake. Though I have something in the garden now, very pretty. All over the place, but very easily removed. cannot find it in my book though. must post a pic.

I should of photo'd the leaves too really but they are long narrow leaves. I reckon we have mentioned this plant before as being a bit of a thug on another thread. I can't recall the name of the plant though. My sister has it and I pulled a few plantlets up from her garden and am now regreting it. Tis very pretty though
