Tig, Thank you. It stays, not that much, if anything get dug up. Except maybe to make space for ......., I will relocate it to stones/rocks on edge of grass area. Thereby, under my definition, it can no longer be called a weed.

Quick answer Tig, no! But I think the leaves are "wrong". They are all green and smooth, not a purple or velvet leaf in sight, but they are the correct shape. I was leaning to Silene, but I am happy to live with L. x arkwrightii cos I like his shop.

Mainly because it is open all hours? I have only grown silene Jack Flash which has fringed petals. All silene seem to bear their flowers on a short tube that is surrounded by a purple-brown calyx at the base.
