Passing the GG this morning I didn't resist buying a couple of double chaters hollyhocks, yellow & purple and a coreopsis grandiflora presto. I've not bothered with hollyhocks for years because of them getting rust but at £2.99p each I thought I'd give them another try.

The FG order arrived so I've potted on two viable echinaceas and emailed them about the other which was rotten and no chance of it growing. 4 bareroot pastel coloured achilleas too.
The GG had 'basket' plants in 4" pots for £1.20p each so I selected fuchsia dancing flame, verbena enchantment hot pink, diascia diamonte coral rose and 2 calibrachoa cancan sunrise.

4 Cavolo Nero cabbage, 2 Echinacea Pallida and gift plants for friends. Then noticed shuttlecock ferns and got 3 of those as I love these rampant ferns but they are hardly for sale anymore due to them being so rampant... Got a mans ear for full shade too. I am slowly filling the gaps the builders from next doors created in my shade border. Men with big feet and no feel for plants. Next doors made every excuse she could and gave flowers and chocolate. Ah well

I've been a bit bad about confessing!
On Monday we called into Notcutts on the way home and I bought 2 baby houseplants - they sell a selection for terrariums and I like buying the small ones rather than paying lots for the bigger versions. I also got 2 new pots and some rootgrow.
Yesterday we went to a place called Cade Street Nursery. Been here 21 years and only just discovered it! They used to only do trade but now they sell to the public too. Their prices are very good. I bought some argyranthemum, some nemesia and some Digitalis Panther (sterile and supposed to flower for longer than normal foxglove). I also bought a DA rose - Kew Gardens. I've wanted that for ages but you hardly ever see DA roses in GC here and never that one.
