Nice selection Jasmine, the pollinators will love Kew Gardens. It will be interesting to see if Panther branches out like it's ment to. I'd not heard of it so had to google but it sounds fab, well any that bloom for longer are anyhow as they're one of my favourite flowers. Lovely to find the nursery and that they're reasonable r.e. price.

I've bought an Acer palmatum Amagi Shigure from Gardening Express. Good choice!
I bought a couple of palmatums, " a while back."
They enhance any garden.

They're looking good doghouseriley, I love Acers especially because of their Autumn colours. The Amagi Shigute goes from red in Spring, purple in Summer to orange and yellow in Autumn.

It grows quite easily from seed in my experience Ron, and is a very low maintenance plant once mature.

Bought seeds to sow for plants next year. First time I've heard of Catananche. I first grew them a couple of years ago and as they're perennial I still have 2 or 3 decent sized clumps of them. They're really drought tolerant too, lovely flower.

From a little family run nursery on stakehill I bought for the front rock garden Antennaria aprica alba, and Aster alpinus white. £5,00 For both isn't bad.

I would like to proudly confess that I bought nothing at Wisley. I thought their garden centre was disappointing this time and was also not impressed with their houseplants.

I've just had a 'little' Hayloft splurge, it is ages since I've bought anything from them after having a few disappointments. Nothing spectacular, some penstemons, dianthus and colourful coleus. P & P is quite dear but I found that the code GW23 worked and gave me a 10% discount, so that reduced it a bit.

I spent a fortune this morning...50p! Tescos had one 'Summer Planter' (normal price £12.00) with a small dahlia, a Bizzy Lizzie, a begonia and a dead thing in it. It did look a bit woeful but I said to the guy at the checkout who looked like he thought I was mad for even wasting 50p on it that it was going to be today's challenge. It already looks better with a bit of a prune and tidy up and a top up of better compost than Tescos use.

That will be the bargain of the year if you save even half of the plants in the pot Jasmine ,. I went to the chicken farm and bought 30 eggs for £6,00, I wanted some plants from the GC next door but sadly they didn't have anything that took my fancy.

As Alan said Barbara, the pot is worth more than 50p! We went to Morrisons yesterday - they used to do masses of lovely summer plants but it's like they've decided not to bother this year.

The GG had reduced some annuals to £1 a pot so I got a nice lemon yellow osteo, a double pink agryanthemum and two coleus in one pot. Sainsbos had reduced the planters with the alstroes, for £15 to £2.99 so I had both. They should perk up again now I've tidied them up and given them some rain water.

I lost my dahlia Rhubarb and Custard over winter and have just managed to get 2 little plants from Proctors. I've never used Proctors before but I would definitely use them again.

We like our wooden troughs. They make a change from the many Apta green ceramic pots we have. We had two troughs which will take three plastic pots. Here with heathers in the spring. and two which will take two. These had two hebes in each in the Spring, but now the heathers have ceased flowering four of them have been swopped with the hebes. The remaining heathers are now between the hebes which will soon be in flower. The problems with anything wood you buy for the garden, are, 1, It's expensive. 2, It's from "sustainable resources," so often has the density of forced rhubarb. We wanted another trough for a couple of new plants I'd bought. If I'd left it like this, it'd slowly rot away. "Tanalised" can mean nothing these days. So like the others, they got a good rub down and the pin nails used in construction supplemented by a couple of dozen screws. Plus some feet made from hardwood dowel to keep them off the ground. Then two coats inside and out of Dulux mahogany wood stain (£70 for 2.5 litres but worth it). I've used it on all the garden woodwork for decades, including our summerhouse in my Avatar, I built from soft wood and roofing ply in 1987. It's had many coats of this and there's still no sign of rot. All the pots sit on plastic saucers on top of the slatted bases, so help keep them dry.

I bought a house plant yesterday a dracaena (dragon tree ) from Sainsbury’s, only £3.45 it was a bargain, I’ve started collecting them again, I got rid of them all when we did lots of travelling as they were a nuisance family having to water them, I didn’t give my orchids though I put them outside .
