I ordered a couple of tulip collections from SR yesterday as I had a 20% off code. I've decided all the rest of my tulips can be cheap and cheerful from Lidl...watch them not do them this year!!!

I'm just hoping most of last years reappear! A few cheaper ones may be bought if I spot any local though. I picked up 2 leucanthemum broadway lights from the GG as he had them in 1 ltr pots for £2, mine all died over winter. I rescued two little pots of chrysanths in bright pink ceramic pots from Sainsbos, they were down from £4 to 49p, the pots were worth that & both have already perked up now I've pruned the dead out and watered them.

I ordered two packets of tulips, Beaty of Spring and Muvota. One packet of Narcissus Rattaplan and one packet of Crocus versus Pickwick.
Delivery in October.
All for at home as I see no point in ordering anything for the plot. Still no confirmation though of what will happen.

J Parkers had free postage on but it ends tonight. I've ordered some bare root monarda to replace those killed by last winters frosts and another large flowering hemerocallis collection. They won't arrive until November though so I will probably pot them up and keep them in a growhouse over winter.

FG sent me an email this morning telling me they loved me and giving me a £15 off voucher.
I'm a sucker so I ordered: Amaryllis 'Hercules' Amaryllis 'Sweet Nymph' Narcissus 'Petrel' Narcissus 'Albus Plenus Odoratus'

They've not sent me a voucher, I've been very good and resisted the free p & p offer so far. Feeling unloved but may be tempted to buy some heuchera from VM

I bought two pots of sempervivums and a leucanthemum western star as the GG had reduced them to £1 a pot.

Sorry about that Tig. I forgot to say on Monday that we went to the GC with Rose that used to be trade only. They have a deal where if you buy more the price drops so I got all these 3l plants and they were about a third of the cost of a 'normal' GC.

I bought a bag of 30 mixed daffodils in Sainsburys for £3.00 but as it took my shop over £90.00 I got £9.00 knocked off, so I think I got them for free. anyway they are all planted in the side garden now.

Not much choice really. Wood would rot too fast under these conditions. And I am not able enough at the moment to build it myself.

Hopefully it will last for a decade or more Dutchy and you will enjoy growing veggies that are close to home to crop for many seasons in it.

I bought 3 peony bare roots in Lidl yesterday (and a Panettone!!!). I got Flame, Dancing Butterfly and Karl Rosenfeld.
Today I finally couldn't resist the 15% off at DA and ordered Eglantyne and Jubilee Celbration bare roots.

J Parkers also have free postage on, may need to have a gander on their site too.

The bare root peony sword dance bought from Dutch Bulbs arrived via Yodel, it was a wonder it was still in the box as it was all ripped and just roughly taped over the open end. The specimen sent was pathetic. Their site said all their bare root peonies would have 3 or more eyes, the scrappy piece I received had none, all brown. I took advantage of the free p & p offer to see what quality of products they supplied, they may have had more of my custom had it been decent. I rattled off an email with photos and they are sending me another one, hopefully one that will grow. Will let you know if they do better next time.

That's not good Tig, I was tempted to get some tulip bulbs from them but thought their p+p was steep. I didn't notice the free p+p offer. Hopefully the replacement peony will be better. I got some violas from the GC yesterday and did their fill a bag with daffodil bulbs for £1. Shouldn't have bothered with that though as most of the bulbs were quite soft - it was hard to find enough ok ones to fill the bag. I suppose it's quite late to be buying daffs.

The replacement(s) arrived late this aft, that was a quick response. The Yodel driver knocked and ran and the package left was not for us Luckily I spotted his van over the road so dashed down the drive, he must have twigged as he had my parcel in his hand and was coming back across. They put two in the parcel, good job too as one was a dead as the first but the other bit has got 2 pink eyes so there may be a chance one will grow. I don't think, based on this experience, I will be using them again and certainly not if I had to pay their steep p & p.

A whopping big round half sphere... also known as a Chrysanthemum in pot. Lovely dusky yellow with rust colored leave tips. So sunny and all loveliness.
