Did you see DT in Casanova genie? He was very good, with a lovely twinkle in his eye Mmm did I see it? Course I did - glued to the telly for every episode! Despite being absolutely the most gorgeous man alive, he is an excellent actor! ;D

I'd love to put a twinkle in his eye.... ;D Seriously though, I wasn't really old enough to watch the other dr whos so I can't really compare them but I think DT was an excellent choice. I like Tom Baker but only because of the Little Britain stuff. Mmmm twinkly gorgeous eyes! Aye i'd like to do the same given half a chance! (wickedly giggling!) Even have the cheek to blush!

Just as a little point of interest. My Granda died watching Doctor Who, in the William Hartnell days. (Nearly said Norman Hartnell). My Gran had just shouted at him for watching "that far-fetched nonsense". She was in the kitchen and when she came through with his tea, he had gone. She never forgave herself. What a great way to go. I was very upset obviously, but even at that young age, I thought it was good way to die. I used to be terrified of the Daleks.

Never heard of William (or Norman) Hartnell.
I'd love to go like that watching the gorgeous DT.

William Hartnell was the first Doctor. Way before your time. And Norman Hartnell was the Queen's Dressmaker. Also way before your time. God, I'm ancient.

I wouldn't say ancient... Just older and wiser than I!

I've heard of all of them from Jon Pertwee and thereafter. Never heard of the first 2 though.
Then again, I had no interest in it until the new episodes.

It was quite scary, I dont think I would be very happy to let young kids watch it. Specially the bit where they went off and left the family in the house. Mind you lifes a bitch, they may as well get used to it bet there were a few bad dreams last night ;D We've got the Ood back next week, they freak Rebecca out, so that should be funny

I enjoyed it DT is good but the excellent Phil Davis makes a great baddie! Not impressed with Catharine Tate I wish she'd leave her comedy voices out of it, and she's so useless! Prancing about in her long floaty frock with her t*ts hanging out, asking gormless questions all the time and being "girly" Not right for a Doctor Who assistant!

Yeah, must admit she got a bit on my wick last night with the fun bags hanging out the front of her frock and why does she call him Dockta at the top of her shreiky voice? She was definatley doing Nan when they had her tied up on that table, I was expecting a "What a f*c*ing LIBERTY" at any minute ;D We have to give her a chance tho, I hated that Martha when she first started but I ended up thinking she was great. Rose has been the best - she was brilliant. I used to want to be Sarah Jane when I was younger, and I thought she was really good when they fetched her back. Completley missed the "love" angle when I was a kid - get it a bit more now right I am off to the gh now, got some hanging baskets to sort out ttfn

I watched last week's episode on iPlayer yesterday and have to say I was disappointed. Catherine Tate, I am sorry to say, is totally unsuited to the role. And the colloquialisms put into the speech of the "Romans" just didn't work for me. Sorry. Will try to watch this week's today (I am always a bit behind!)

We went up to visit a friend on their farm last night so we missed it. It's a day of sport (as per usual) today so probably won't be allowed to watch it today. Then I'm on a course in Liverpool for the next 2 days and will be out the house for about 12 1/2 hours each day so by the time I get home and have tea I'll be ready for bed so I might get to watch it Wednesday!! But then depends what shifts he's got me on next week cos apparently I belong to the manager next week...

I didn't mind Catherine Tate so much in last night's episode, but I'd rather have Martha. I like the romance interest. I must be getting soft, I was scared last night too.

Catherine Tate... it just feels to me like she's puttin on a comedy voice all the time, trying to be funny when there's no call for it.
