Why oh why do I order online. This morning I was ordering my potatoes for next year and taking advantage of free P&P from Mr. Fothergill. When I got to the checkout the page clearly stated my order was for potatoes only with the discount applied for P&P. When I got the conformation page on screen they charged me for several packets of seeds I had looked at previously!!!!!!!! I have emailed them and will see what they say. Several of the pks of seeds were double orders too and the thing is, Jenny has already bought them in one of the GC's so I don't even want them. I am so mad. I'm sure they will find a way of saying it was somehow my fault but let this be a warning to everyone!!!!!! Sorry for the rant, it's early in the morning and I had to get it off my chest.

I have noticed these things happening more and more Ladygardener and not just by T & M - hahaha!! I was browsing on a German GC and found something that I liked and went to checkout and 2 other things were included. I clicked back and then it seemed to sort itself out but I am betting that some folks don't notice until it is too late...all to easy to give the customer the fault or even a PC glitch. Bet half the people that it happens to don't even say anything - the trick has then worked for them!! RF

Yes Rosefriend I can easily see how these things happen but I know for certain that when I was asked for my bank details the invoice stated it was only for the cost of the potatoes I was ordering. The thing is too that as I've said Jenny already bought the seeds but the invoice was for 2 or 3 packets of each of them. It must somehow have stored all the times I went on the website and went to order. I'd already given up on ordering those seeds as the site would'nt let me have the free packet that was advertised and I'd rung them and they said they had glitches on the site and could'nt help me.!!

Well we could be kind and say it is really a PC glitch - that you will see if you get a refund or whatever. If not then it is a scam - threaten then with going to the newspapers - it works a treat !! I had a strange email from Mr. F. no apology or anything just a printed message saying my order had been updated. Nothing else, no, "your money has been refunded " . I logged onto their site and into my orders and it's still quoting the high price.

I totally agree Ladygardener and it is happening more and more and that is why I feel we shouldn't let them get away with it...!! RF I've been reading your coments on the other thread about T&M Rosefriend. How annoying to get offers you can't take advantage of. What is their problem with sending seeds for goodness sake. As to my Mr. F. saga, I've had a couple more generic emails from them saying nothing but one from Jane Fox. Dear Ms Aroua Thank you for contacting us concerning your recent order, and I am very sorry to hear that you have had problems when using our website. Unfortunately the packets of seed have already been despatched to you. It looks as if they may have been placed in your shopping basket during a previous visit to our website, but I have asked our On-line Marketing department to see if they can reproduce and rectify the problem. Meanwhile, if you could please return the package of seeds direct to me, at Gazeley Road, Kentford, Newmarket, Suffolk, CB8 7QB, I will arrange a full refund of the cost of the seeds and the postage charges you have incurred. With kind regards Jane Fox, Customer Services It's inconvenient to have to take them to the post office but at least I have a chance of getting a refund. It amounts to over £20 so worth doing.

Send them back recorded delivery LG! So they can't say they haven't received them, and as you can reclaim postage it should not cost you any more but will give you evidence that a package was received even if you can't prove what was in it.

Just caught up with this Ladygardener. I'm so glad you got your money back. I remember this happening to me with SR and they wanted the duplicate of everything sent back but I rarely get to the PO - it isn't very helpful is it and takes up so much of your time and so on. Looks as though Mr F's should be neatly filed along with T&M - wait til you read T&M's response to coming in Gardening Which's bottom 5 on-line GC!!!!

In the January/February edition Geranium. They spoke to the top 5 and the bottom 5 in their survey - actually they didn't as GardenBargains came last and they declined to comment!

Haylofts would get my top vote too - their customer service is excellent. Crocus would get a good vote too as they have always dealt with anything that was sick/dying or wrong really well. I miss that set up they used to have where the discount was so good they nearly ended up owing you money!! Crocus did really well in the Which survey - think they were second

Yes I think so Tig, I must check my bank statement and see how much they took out and how much they returned, I've not actually done that. I just noticed they'd made a payment. From my dealings with Hayloft, I've no complaints at all, hopefully it stays that way. Crocus don't deliver to NI or if they do they charge a huge surcharge so I can't order from them.
