No I've had a look around and can't see anything about them either Jasmine. Perhaps you'll have to ring them and at least get a description of them.

I emailed yesterday LG but I haven't had an answer which is unusual as they are very good normally about getting back to you if you get in touch. I haven't even heard of this specific penstemon although there are so many different sorts that I guess that isn't a surprise. I ordered a 1p book from Amamzon yesterday on penstemons. It won't list all the newer ones but it might be interesting.

Sometimes the same penstemon seems to have a myriad of names ( perhaps they belong to MI6!! ) ;D ;D

I got an answer about Penstemon Light of Life today... This is one which we have not had before. It is a small mid purple flower with a speckled throat. There doesn’t seem to be any information on this plant at all. A rare one at the moment! If it wasn't only about 8cm tall I'd offer to share some bits i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

I've decided to put my lovely Blue Springs in the new bed. I think it would be fitting for such beautiful plants to have pride of place. ;D

I took some cutings of Penstamons in the spring, they all took, some I planted out, and some I kept in pots, those I've put in the plastic green house today, should I cut them down or leave them as they are, they're about 6in tall.

I've just been out to check on all my penstemon babies - some of the more recent plug plants look very small to get through winter. Expect they'll be ok though - they're quite tough little things really.

You could always pop them into your new greenhouse when you get it put up if you're really worried Jasmine.

You're welcome PJ. I ordered the penstemons too - didn't realise there were extra choices if you went online ;D Jas, I got my 6 penstemons from the Telegraph special offer this morning. It seems a little late to plant out, but they look a decent quality plug plant with plenty of foliage still. I have planted them in a pot for now and put in greenhouse. Have you got yours yet?

I've got mine too PJ and they sound just the same as yours. I potted them up in small pots and put them in the mini plastic greenhouse. I thought they were a bit too small to brave the winter out in the garden.

Im afraid I always trim my penstemons in the Autumn and again in the spring! I took cuttings of a blue one that I found!! I thought I had lost it but it had flowered when I came back from my hols! the garden had seemed full of the deep pink ( like jasmine) I have forgotten what I have! but the cuttings look as if the frost has got to them so Ill have to take some more and maybe put them in the conservatory.
I got mine from an offer in one of the mags along with a couple of Clems; about 5 years ago one wa s Stapleford gem, Sour Grapes which was pink with a striped white throat and Apple blossom which was pale pink!! Oh so that solves that the cerice pink Ive got IS Sour Grapes! Ive just been outside and examined its throat ;D it is striped!!

Sour grapes is almost exactly the same as Stapleford Gem - they have got muddled over time Maggy. Sometimes you see plants for sale with both names on the label.

Stapleford Gem is mauve/blue Jas! Maurice Gibbs and Sour Grapes are almost identical cerice with a white throat! well they are in my book.

Ive just taken some more cuttings from the stapleford jem ! the last ones I took look as if the frost has got at them! fingers crossed they take they say the blue are more likely to die over winter than the others.
