I bought 3 penstemons at the RHS Plant Fair on Wednesday. Ice Cream Juicy Grape, Raven and Pensham Westminster Belle. I thought the latter one would be memorable as I bought it close to Westminster. I'd never heard of it before.
Do any of you have that variety?

I've not heard of Westminster Belle PJ but then a few years ago Hayloft sent me Light of Life as a replacemnet for something they couldn't fulfill in an order and the Penstemon Society hadn't heard of that one and Hayloft have never gone on to offer it in their catalogue Do you know what colour it will be? I thought of you yesterday Missy with your Ted's Purple as I got sent another one in my 'rare' collection which arrived on Friday! ;D We've got a 'rare' penstemon doncha know! ;D

I don't have Westminster Belle but it is a rich purple one so should look good Ted's Purple grows like a weed....don't know what planet Haylofts are on sometimes ;D the dubious power of marketting ;D I still have about 150 babies to plant out....wish me luck

I dont have a single one of the cutting left that you sent me Auricula I dont think they like it this far up North but I may invest in a packet of seeds next year trouble is they are the boring ones/mixed in packets.

You may be able to provide us all with some Missy. I got a packet free on a magazine last year & only sowed what I thought was a few. I had so many I was forcing them on people i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif . I was sure I only sowed a tiny pinch this year, but I've still ended up with 3 trays full after pricking out & then I threw loads away. It's a good way to grow them though, they didn't flower until very late, but I took cuttings of my favourites & they're all doing well Jillyx

I have two waiting to be planted out if it ever warms up, one red one, and the other is a 'possible' red but probably not Still have a pot of rooted cuttings, but I didn't label them so have no idea which they are until they flower! I've got a couple of packets of seeds, one Sensation mixed and one tubular bells purple - I've not sown either yet as I'm out of space. If anyone wants to try them I'll happily pop a few seeds in the post
