April.......someone should do it for you. All I can say, they will certainly miss you when you're gone. OH used to organise all special birthday presents for his mates. Get the collection going, arrange the 'do', buy the present, get everyone to sign the card. When he had one, none of them did it for him. How rotten is that? So he did it himself, and they all came, and they had a brill time. And I could kick 'em up their somethings (if my leg could reach).
Do you know, I'm ranting everywhere tonight.

And guess what.... just received a text from a girl at B&Q (how did she get my mobile number?!) saying she and a few others can't make it. SO, asked her to take the posters down for me and she then told me to pop in and arrange something else so I said I would but couldn't see the point! I won't bother. At least I can now go to the gala day at my mum's village which we go to every year. I had a stall there last year but I'm walking that morning so won't be able to go set up.

Oh April, what a load of tossers they are! Not worth fretting about! You've got your new career now, and hopefully a better lot of workmates! In my experience, Posties do hang together, it's a sort of Dunkirk Spirit thing! ;D ;D Have a lovely time with your Mum!

Well we've already been out with quite a few of them and we take Eric out with one of the other guys and his dog Paddy. They have a great time together and tire each other out, which is always good!

Sounds like you are well out of it April. Life is far too short to to spend any more of your time fretting about those kind of people. Sorry another whinge and I did the same somewhere last year I know but.... Its summer madness again, the roads are full of idiots, the supermarkets are running out of the basics (worse than Xmas) and there is a queue even to get into the carpark, work is flat out, screaming kids where ever you look - summer holidays are here - counting down the days till its back to normal

It is the word we Glaswegians use frequently, "arses" It has a certain ring to it! God, that is even worse, purely accidental. The BBC would have us banned for such talk!

Morning jlottie, how I agree with you. I used to have a cottage on the main road between Glasgow and Loch Lomond. After a day out from the city, come teatime, when everyone had decided to set off for home, I couldn't get my car out into the stream of traffic. I sat once for 45 minutes, for a break to appear that I could dive in to. I dreaded summer sometimes. In the winter, it was deserted. Once, a coach parked across the road, and everyone got out to take photographs of my hanging baskets coming right into the garden. I didn't know whether to be flattered or annoyed, so I just hid indoors till they went away. They wouldn't mean any harm, but it was a bit scary somehow.

Hello April, please don't take this to heart, sometimes people can be so wrapped up in their own lives, that they can become thoughtless. At least you know you have done the right thing by leaving. Good luck in your new job, I hope you enjoy it.

They've decided to rearrange it for the week after now We'll see!! I also do not like school holidays at the moment. I've got 2 little girls and a boy following me around on one road talking shite to me. Then on another part of the round I've got a few lil boys following me around shouting "stupid" and "fatty". I can cope with stupid because I know I'm not. However, the fatty comment strikes a nerve LOL

April, be nice to them - so often takes the wind out of their sails. Failing that hit 'em with your postbag. That'll definitely take the wind out of their sails

They are talking about 29 or even 30 degrees today down here! Phew!!! That's a bit much even for me! Emmets in Cornwall are the same as Grockles in, I think, Devon and/or Dorset. What are tourists called in other parts of the country? We already know that in Scotland they are called "Ars*s", thanks to WeeT! ;D (or is there another slightly more polite word WT?)

Morning Nightowl Seems I now have the reputation of being rather course? Well, I veer between that and being very prissy! Tourists en masse are never good, are they (unless you have a souvenir shop) though I expect they are all lovely individually. After all, we will all have been one. I don't think we have a particular name for them. Though when I worked in a Garden Centre, the boss used to call them 'Victims' which made me really angry. I could have a whole whinge thread to myself about that place Now, HE WAS AN **** !!!!!!!

What are Tourists called in different parts of the Country?
... It all depends if they're towing a caravan and driving @ 20mph ... or if they think it's ok not to use indicators ... or if they don't know how wide their cars are ... or if ...

In Scotland, I think they are called tourists, but there is usually an adjective preceding the word.
