Oh that's great news Barbara, I'd leave them for another few days until they've made a nice little root system and then plant them.

Bummer is'nt it Barbara I hope he's caught. I like your shelves by the way and at least you'll have plenty of Fuchsia for next year.

OK next question regarding the fuchsia cuttings, I've potted them into bigger pots because the roots were through the bottom of the other pots, I have 8 good plants now, so can I keep them in the GH over winter, do I water them or leave them dry ?

With established fuchsias you keep them very dry but with recently rooted cuttings I usually water them about once a fortnight or when the pot feels light and the soil crumbly. I keep mine in an unheated greenhouse. If frost is suspected throw a bit of fleece over them. They should be quite well established before the really bad weather comes. This week I have taken.....fuchsia,penstemon, salvia, pinks and phlox cuttings

I took a load of Fuchsia cuttings yesterday- as soon as they have rooted I'll plant them and put them in the spare bedroom for the winter...
Last time I used Perlite and they did very well...

Well done Barbara, as Auricula says, they'll be fine over the winter with just a bit of water now and then but not very wet. Good luck Rosefriend. Today I potted some rooted Salvia cuttings into pots with perlite and mp compost mix. I'd started them off in water.

I've been amazed how easily some have taken, stuck some prunings in just to see and more than expected grew! I need to try and get a Blue Moon going for my DiL - I think it has enough growth on this year to try some.

Yes, I've got Rosa Jasmina - think that is the right name. Those cuttings got transported from Germany to the UK by hand too on one of your little holidays so survived travelling and then grew! Always sorry that Abigail never grew but you can't have everything! Good luck Andy!

All hardwood cuttings in now....Cornus, Salix and Roses plus took some Lawson's Cypress too ( Chamaecyparis lawsoniana 'Beverlyensis') all tucked up in a cold greenhouse. Might chuck a few Forsythia in and some Philadelphus this week if it's not too cold
