Just try to make sure you don't miss any Auricula and they'll keep going. Isabella those are lovely. I picked another 2 bunches today. For anyone who remembers me planting on the tips which got cut out, they're blooming now too. Just as strong as the parents and lovely long stems.

Auricula, you have to cut the spent flowers off, once they make seed they want to finish as the job is done.
LG ,I'm glad the cutting tops worked for you when I first posted that, I dont think people believed that it worked, but I have been doing it for years.

Auricula they were pointed out to me last year and are quoted on T&M as being especially for hanging basket with a dwarf growing habit. It seems to be working quite well.
And they are scented too.

Here is a pic of the sp cutting tops which I grew on instead of throwing away. You can see they have long strong stems and flowers. Here they are with the Clematis Hagley Hybrid.

They look good LG, so they are the "cuttings" when you pinched out the growing tips. Cannot be bad can it plants for free.
The basket sweet peas do look better now I've untangled them, they are hanging better, just got to remember to keep cutting them off now ?

I picked another bunch last evening (I find they seem to last longer if picked after tea? ), and this morning the kitchen was once again filled with their scent. They must be the best value for money flower to grow for picked flowers, garden colour and scent! All the buds that were closed last night are starting to open already. Magic

Mowhay they say that if you cut off the tendrils the strength goes into the plant and is not wasted. Tig I totally agree with you, their scent and variations of colour mean you could never get bored with them either. Such a great value for effort plant.
