Have to say the bits I've seen of the new GW prog overall it's not inspiring me at all, finding it all a bit boring if I'm honest There is probably some truth in what you said David about MD knowing what he was doing having the bulk of it from his garden. I can't see atm that his garden has something of interest for the majority of gardeners, Carol Kleins garden would have been better in my opinion, I know a lot don't like her and feel she gets a bit over enthusiastic but her garden is lovely and covers most areas of gardening.

Beechgrove was good last night, it is a much more practical programme with advice for all levels of gardeners.
I agree with your comments on GW Chuckles, big yawn!

If you find yourself with half an hour to spare sometime, please do try to look at the attached link. It's everything Gardeners' World isn't and what every good gardening programme should be....IMHO, of course. www.youtube.com/user/horticulturalchannel

What a shame, no one bothered. Well I have a window open ready to remind me to watch it but haven't found that spare half an hour yet. They are very hard to find when you have a 2 1/2 yr old to look after.

I've just watched the Horticultural Channel gardening programme too. Thanks David, it was quite interesting.
Gardeners World has been very disappointing I must say. MD's garden does not interest me at all. I will continue to watch but v ery halfhearted.

Wasn't having a pop at anyone in particular, I knew it was kind of material we all enjoy and (given the absence of any comments) assumed no one was interested.

Glad you thought so Jen Despite getting an hour of GW I wasn't impressed. What is it with the 'look on the web' for other plants to propogate?? Not everyone has access, my senior neighbours watch GW and they don't! Perhaps it is because they no longer have to pay for a licence As for some of the advice, hmmmm x Tig

I thought the advice about sowing the carrot seed helpful - not that I will be sowing any

What did he say about carrots,Jen

He said to broadcast them so they don't need thinning. Since they don't need thinning they should'nt attract the carrot fly. He did'nt cover them with netting or anything 'tho.

Anyone going to see Gardener's Question Time Live - I've seen an advert - the only thing is you won't know which gardeners you'll get doing your local show.

Behave yourself Auricula Will ask Christine and get back Chuckles - would be nice to catch up with her in person - she tends to stay Essex way mostly although a Northern Lancashire Lass ;D Nearest venue for me is Buxton but that is in November when the roads over the moors will be a bit scary i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/shocked.gif
