Monty needs a new wardrobe I think, the gardens made by the black slaves all those years ago were huge.

The series ended last night I don't think lots of the places were really 'gardens' but the climate does make it difficult,

I liked watching those American gardens. So different from what we can do. And I'll admit that any Piet Oudolf garden has me drooling. Now clothes.... I think he really goes through a lot of trouble getting those. Must be hard to find

I enjoyed that very much, ''Johns underpants '' made me smile, and the lanterns were really nice, all the children dressed up looked lovely.

Yes. Good to see as I love the plant shots they do. I don't care about whether it is good or not it is the start of the season and I love it. Mind I would not like to have the water they have.... And I like Monty's twinkle in his eyes when he talks plants...

I see there was a bit about Snowdrops on GW last night, thought of you Jasmine. The man said he waited 15 years for a flower and another one he had took 40 years!!!! now that's dedication.

I watched the Snowdrop bit. Thought it was very dumbed down. I would really like to have had more information and mention of the other 16 or so species.

I agree Barbara Adam Frost is a breath of fresh air. I wish he was the main presenter. He's back again next week too.

Last night on BBC 4 was a programme about the wildlife in our garden, it was really interesting, an article about snails was particularly so, they painted the shell according to the part of the garden they came from and all ended up back where they came from after all being gathered together in the middle, some were brought from Cornwall and they heads West, the right direction, I hope someone gave them a lift as it's a long way from London, the different types of moths was amazing, as were the spiders.

I have just watched Monty and Beechgrove - not happy with Beechgrove though. Question time was OK but I would like to actually see Beechgrove and I cannot see why a few pics of how it is getting along are not possible tbh...difficult times I know but one man and a camera must be possible.

Must be the fact that it takes at least three men to do the filming and one to do the presenting. A normal team consists of 10 people in all. The three have to travel with lighting, camera and sound in one van and that is a nono I suppose.
Monty is sort of doing things single handed which must be hard as you have to redo things often to get different camera angles and you have to remember what you did in one shot and in the other. etc. And get rid of all the in between unwanted stuff so some one in a studio or at home must have been cutting and pasting like mad. Ah and he has to place the screens to get good light himself, I hope he has Sarah to help him out. I for one would not know how to get optimum lighting if I am bouncing light into somewhere where no stands to see if it is right.... And I would not fancy getting electricity cables through my garden although he might use a simple battery driven cam. Which then needs recharging way to often even with spare batteries. Ah well.

I thought Adam Frost managed great the past 2 weeks he presented from his own garden. I could listen to and watch him all day. I've not seen Monty this week yet but we did watch Beechgrove. It's interesting to see a bit of the presenters own gardens.

I'm not sure who gets Netflix but we do and have really been enjoying The Big Flower Fight. We've almost finished watching the series, each episode the teams have to construct a display, i.e. a beast, a marine creature, a flower etc..... and each week they have a different medium to work with i.e. dried flowers or fresh flowers or things washed up onto a beach with flowers etc... they get about 15 hours to build their display which usually has to be over 7 feet tall or wide and are judged. They work in couples and one couple goes home each episode while one couple get best in show. It's really good, a bit like the bake off but with flowers/plants instead and you get a good insight into the couples as well.

I'm looking forward to GW this coming weekend as I do like Adam Frost doing the presenting, he makes everything so down to earth.
I did find the lady making her comfrey compost without it stinking to high heaven very interesting and will give it a go when I get back to the plot.

There's a lad on FB bangs on about doing it that way, he has for years, the problem is he uses the entire plant, he has loads, I only have a couple and like to leave some for the bees.
