That's a weird flower Mick but beautiful too. Bet folk will be scratching their heads now for brown flowers ;D Chocolate Cosmos sprang to my mind but they aren't brown, funny how the brain works sometimes, or doesn't

It's one of a group of plants called Stapeliads that come from Africa and India. I specialise in them and supply Kew who struggle to grow them. Just taken some 50 cuttings to restock them again early next month.

Here's some brown Aloes - Alo dorothaea - a cutting from Kew Aloe cameronii - originally collected in Rhodesia (that shows how old it is) which is on it's 4th start -

The bees do seem to like it Tig. The plant was one of a handful that I managed to grow from seed and it is now two years old, and this is the first time it has flowered.
