And then there is black eyed susan that wants to take over the garden through self seeding. I've forgotten the name of this one, but it is a later blooming variety of false sunflower. Birds are supposed to love the seed heads but I haven't seen them go after these much. I'll see what happens as the winter moves along and food starts getting scarce. I read in the Avon Bulbs catalogue that the seedhead of the nectar thingys look like Disney castles, I suppose they do a bit. Jillyx

I have some of those Disney castles in my garden Jilly, I shall smile everytime I look at them now ;D The sun was glinting on the seedheads of clematis Princess Diana and they looked like gold - no sign of any leprachauns though ... x Tig

I was given one of those a couple of year ago - the seeds were so viable I was giving the plants away and throwing them away, I had so many.

Ever since I posted it has been going through my my mind that I have made a mistake.
I think/thought it was a normal Datura seed head....sometimes called the Thorn apple...not sure now!!
