I looked at electric blankets the other day when I bought the boys their new duvets Jenny. I've only ever used an under blanket and apart from falling asleep with it on which wakes you up in the night as it's like being in a sauna after a few hours ;D I think they are a brilliant idea. I have a feeling you can get a heated duvet now but I might be imagining this.

I had one of those last night Lady - dont tell anyone - feeling very "nesh" at the moment We had the back lash from Woodford yesterday - the 2nd coldest place in the UK - minus 18 Actually made a mistake, on the Weather Thread, was thinking of Woodley - Woodford is just 10 mins away from my home. Woodley about 40 mins No wonder I was cold yesterday i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/sad.gif

We still have an over blanket, which we were using up to 6 yrs ago, when we had C H put in,i much prefer the over one to the under,as you can set it to the required temp, and leave it on all night,we had a double,or two sided one,so that Mrs FB and i could each set our side at diferent temps,or switch one side or the other off. Corse you know Jenny, you cant beat haveing a nice warm body of the opposite sex, next to you,to cuddle up to i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/wink.gif

I have an idea that the Fire Brigade or is it St John Ambulance Brigade operate a new for old scheme for electric blankets no doubt always provided that you can hire an OAP for the day. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif Otherwise I think underblankets are best. I think they are ok to leave on during the night these days - on a low setting - and the one that immediately springs to mind is Dreamland. Personally I prefer a fleecy underblanket as I don't have a problem keeping warm in bed.

I'm the same as FB. Can't wear jim jams as I get too hot and I can't bear getting in a warm bed. Cold bed, with fresh linen is heaven even at the moment.

A cold bed is not a man thing - I sleep in my birthday suit and like to get into a cold bed. .. in a cold bedroom.I also have the window open all year round. Yes, it is open now....just a little bit though. If I have a hot bedroom I feel I can't breathe.
