I spent ages today trying to get a piccie of the blue tits coming and going to their box but only got the box each time - they are so fast. Guess you would need to be taking continous photos so that you would get 1 good shot. Don't think the chicks are hatched yet - it isn't noisy enough.

yeah, start your click when they're about a meter away from the box. you'll never get them coming out, unless you're watching and they're frequent flyers. cough.

Last year a near neighbour was bought a nest box with a camera for a birthday present and I was luck enough to see on screen the baby Blue Tits it homed. It was lovely to watch them be fed and see them grow. I wonder if it was one of them that hit my back door window the other day Well, this week OH's uncle called and he had bought us one We put it up today and its really quite a good picture. It says on the box 'made for Aldi' and I've found one that looks identicle sold by The Range on Ebay www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Wild-Bird-Watching-Camera-Nest-Box-Kit-/281231004239?pt=UK_Home_Garden_Garden_Plants_Bird_Bath_Feeder_CV&hash=item417aac924fI've seen a couple of sparrows collecting bits of debris this week for nesting already. My new box might be a bit bright and new for this year but we'll have to wait and see

How brilliant to get the bird box with the camera Chuckles. Very kind of OH's Uncle to think of you. Hope some of them use it this year. I've been watching 2 Magpie make their nest in the Elderberry bushes/trees opposite. It's huge !

I hope you don't get fed up of those Magpies Ladygardener. 3 years ago a pair nested next door and what a racket they made, all day and the day started at 4am, if not earlier...!! RF

We've always had them round here Rosefriend so I'm used to them. For the most part they stay out of my garden 'tho, they're real shy. I've heard bad things about them eating small baby birds and don't really like them at all. About 9 or 10 years ago there used to be trees out back from where I live. They woke me up every morning with their squaking. Someone bought the land and built over it so the trees all got cut down. Where they're going to nest won't be a bother to me as I can't hear them at all from where I sleep at the back of the house.

Well nothing has used the bird box with camera I posted about in March but it was inspected within 2 days of it being up. A pair of the local Blue Tits looked in the hole a few times and one actualy went in while the other perched in the hole. There are several pairs about and they have nested in my neighbours a they did last year. I've put a cuple of fat ball feeders up full of moss and tumble dryer fluff and they have been taking stuff from them, so have the sparrows and even a Black Bird. If anyone has looked at the link I posted on the Table/Feeder thread you'll probably have noticed it changed from feeders to a nest of Blue Tits. I look in most days first thing in a morning and towards the end of the day and she has now got 5 eggs. She's so cute to see at night all snuggled up www.gardenature.co.uk/cams/ It doesn't always connect but a refresh normaly sorts it.

She does'nt just sit there quietly Chuckles does she, she seems to be always fixing and pulling round the bedding. So cute. I stood at the window yesterday while I was on the phone to Jenny and watched a Starling pluck loads of the new green growth from one of the Clematis and fly off with it in her mouth. Nest building in earnest. The 2 Magpie are being really agressive and are dive bombing the Starlings and Pigeons who dare to come into my garden!!!!

My camera box didn't get used last year but like last year it has been inspected. A few weeks ago I noticed the BT's around it a lot and bingo......I caught them having a viewing 2 weeks later and no sign of an offer being put in but there is still time I guess What we do have nesting is a pair of Robins. I watched them for a few days over in next doors yard while I was making a brew and they have nested in an extractor unit on her wall, it has a few broken slats and thats how they have got in. Having the camera on standby by the kettle I managed to get a photo the other day. They now have young as both OH and I have seen them taking in food.

Oh I do you can get pics - have you the link - it was that camera, wasn't it - or not...??
Never seen a Robin nesting...lovely - we think we have a couple of tits, nesting that is - OH is convinced we have a mixed marriage - she is a blue tit and he is Great tit - he reckons that she needs something bigger!!
The reason is that we can see a blue tit going in and out and then a Great tit going in and out but that is all...!!

Oh heck Rosefriend, perhaps they're star crossed lovers, a bit like Romeo & Juliet My tit box has never been used, I think it was a bit optimistic putting it where we did on the house wall, I'm hoping it becomes more attractive now the Honeysuckle is growing up around it. Typical isn't it Chuckles, the birds prefer a broken extractor unit to your beautifully appointed bird box .

Chuckles, well done getting those pics. It would be great if they used your camera box this year. Fingers crossed. I did'nt realise the Robins had their young. Are any other baby birds hatched yet? The Magpie always seem to be fixing up their nest, no idea if there are eggs in it yet or not...

Typical isn't it Chuckles, the birds prefer a broken extractor unit to your beautifully appointed bird box . Fingers crossed the Honeysuckle will help Jilly. Very ungrateful these robins we have , I've told my neigbour and she didn't even realise she had an extractor but was well excited about the nest Chuckles, well done getting those pics. It would be great if they used your camera box this year. Fingers crossed. I did'nt realise the Robins had their young. Are any other baby birds hatched yet? The Magpie always seem to be fixing up their nest, no idea if there are eggs in it yet or not... Both instances were a case of the camera and me were in the right place at the right time, I was well pleased. I think the robins are earlier by a couple of weeks than I've known before and I've not seen signs of any other birds collecting nesting material but its getting to that time of year.

Well it was gobbledygook whatever it was that I was trying to say Chuckles, - my brain was obviously working on a different level to my pinkies... It was about the camera and whether you had a camera showing that nest, I think!!

So that no one else is confused.................... My birdbox with camera is only live to my TV, it doesn't record and isn't connected to my pc. The Wildlife Kate link does live streaming to 2 feeding areas and sometimes she has a 3rd going for four legged wildlife. The Garden Nature link is currently showing a feeding area but last year that changed to a live stream of a blue tits nest for a while, hope they do the same this year.
