I'm going to be a bit sneaky for my next one . Japan do a cover version of All Tomorrow's Parties which I really love - it's one of my favourite songs and would be in my top 10 except that I already have a Japan song at number 5. But I want to get it in somehow, so here's the original instead: 17. All Tomorrow's Parties, The Velvet Underground: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=94-VGIb180UPancakes and maple syrup, and while I'm in the Channel islands I'll hop over to Alderney.

As I'm bored on sick leave from work, I've had a trawl round YouTube and managed to find a version of my second favourite track in my top 10, which for some reason I couldn't find when I was looking before. Anyway, here's Depeche Mode and "The Sun & The Rainfall" uk.youtube.com/watch?v=FWRfpC8s6XUFA x

18. Life Is A Lemon And I Want My Money Back, Meatloaf: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=n9C1VqsskbwI know there are probably wittier Jim Steinman songs, but I love this one, it's so gloriously depressing it always makes me laugh Lemon meringue pie ... ooh, haven't had that for ages, ever since I became allergic to citrus ... and Bear Island. Oops - should've said, sorry to hear about your foot, FA - isn't sick leave better than working though? - have a good rest & catch up with your seed catalogues!

Just to keep this on the front page, I'm going to go for some Supertramp. I think Chrime of the Century is one of the best albuls aver, and cold nominate any track, but I'll go for "Hide in your shell".
Saw Roger Hodgson do it live last month!
Pudding - Haggis!
Island - What's left of the Farnes after last week!

19. Bittersweet Symphony, The Verve: uk.youtube.com/watch?v=z55hjjJxs_oBecause - well, listen to it, it's a classic. Would go well with baked apples stuffed with raisins & brown sugar, on the Arran islands.
