I've got spear like growths too I'm happy to say. Mine are still in the covered back yard where they will get only early morning sunshine. Should I put them outside now do you think? Where do folks have theirs?

I watered my dahlias as advised (they are in one of the plastic growhouses as are the Ismene) and they've shot up The Ismene shoots are less than an inch tall at the mo. x Tig

Mine are about 9 inches which is why I was thinking I'd put them out.

Thanks Tig, they do get heat from the boiler when the central heating is on. They would miss that I guess if I put them outside. I think I'll bring them out the front and put them into the mini growhouse. At least they'd get more light which I think they need now. I've not let mine dry out but I've let them go fairly dry before watering them.

Well I put mine out in their pots into a very sheltered spot in the garden back when I posted last. Today I went to check on them and I'm over the moon. I've got one tall flower spike and another one on the way. Must be beginners luck.

I've got mine in a pot Missy. I started it off in my covered back yard and let it grow until it was about 9-12 inches before I brought it outside.

Wicked LG!!!! Hope some of mine get round to flowering eventually. Missy they are not hardy, so are best grown in a container then you can lift them and store them dry over winter indoors. I started mine off straight into the mini-growhouse (posted when earlier on this fred I think ) They only came out during the week x Tig

Thanks very much Jilly and Tig. I'm really pleased. I was showing it to a neighbour up the street who gardens and he's got some in his flower bed but they're only a couple of inches high.
