I am the only one who can't wait for 2010 to be over ? It's been a totally shit year as far as I'm concerned, beset by bad news right from the start.
There are too many crap things that have happened to go into on here but suffice it to say, it's been one of the worst years ever.
Anyone else can't wait to get this bloody year finished ?

After the reeeeeeeeally shite 2009 I had, and the reeeeeeeeeeally shite start to 2010, I thought I'd still agree with you. But then I met my OH in March and been blissfully happy ever since so I've quite enjoyed this year tbh.
I know about some of the things you're talking about Andy and you have my sympathy xxxxx

Andy at least you changed to Fit Andy which could be OK. But a big hug and yes 2009 ended horrible and 2010 started of real ugly but at the moment things seem fine so 50/50 is the reply. I started a new allotment and that feels good. Not ( thank heavens) a new OH but sort of a new green love so I am of the Aprilaydee school of thought

Having spent the first 6 months of the year or so with a non healing big toe, after an operation for Arthritis and thus unable to walk properly, drive or garden, you would think I would be glad to get this year over and done with, but no, life is too short to wish time away. Sorry that other people have had bad experiences this year though.

Life is a bit of a lottery, good years, bad years, I'm usually an optimist and think things tend to balance themselves out. When I was younger I perhaps didn't appreciate all the good things, but as I've matured I work on the premise that you can't change anything that happened yesterday, grab whatever today gives you and look forward to making a better tomorrow

;D Yes April. Life does smile at the moment. It may change any moment but what is now is now and like Tig I keep seeing the future as over half full ( I am almost 50 ;D ) instead of half empty. Pam yes you are and good for it. For those who had a lousy 2010. May 2011 bring you a much much better year. And for all others... the same of course, what else

Always look on the bright side of life SS xx

Sorry to hear you've had a rotten year FA (and anyone else feeling the same). Some years do feel like that.
We've not had a bad year I think and I'm grateful for that. I think I'd vote for Tig's approach. Try and pick out what's been good even in the bad years - however small. Tomorrow is another day, as they say.

Im with you Andy - this year has been pretty rough to be honest. Some good things have happened tho (Sheba ;D ) so its not all bad, but it does seem to have been one bloody thing after another and Im a bit fed up of it - I dont think its been as bad as yours however, so Im sending you lots of hugs and hoping that 2011 is better all round (oh and a decent summer would be nice please ) Xxxxxxx

yeah, I need a new fresh happy positive year. A year without bike theft (three times) well, one crash and write off/broken promise to buy new one/verbal threat of physical violence and two thefts.
roll on 2011

I do agree that there are good and bad years for everyone, but on balance I would agree with Andy that this particular year has to take the golden award for chaos. I've even got to the stage where I avoid asking the question ..........how are you! I've got a really good feeling about next year though

Well folks, it's 2011 and nothing has changed. I've been to a funeral today for a lovely friend who died of breast cancer at the age of 37, and found out when I got back from there that my best mate's dad passed away this morning, so that'll be another funeral to go to before the end of the month. That's 4 since the end of October.

Ive come to the conclusion that Most people have sh-t-y things happening in their lives and not only one year either you struggle through life and think there is nothing new that can hurt you, you have had the lot !! dont you bl--dy believe it!!! you work hard and struggle to bring your family up and give a sigh of relief when they grow up well balanced law abiding cititzens and life is going smoothly then all of a sudden your flawed punched in the stomach by something that you could never in your wildest nightmares have imagined and the year goung out and another coming in isnt going to make any difference Im living under a ton weight that any day might drop and flatten me, praying to God that nothing will change isnt going to help anything! I just take one day at a time and to-day everything is O.K. but to-morrow who knows. Im sorry I have had a little tot and my defences are down its just good to have the oportunity to unload even if it is only a little bit.
