Thanks Jilly, with luck I'll get some rooted cuttings off the summer snow for you and Jas over the weekend. If anyone else wants a bit shout up now before I start hacking ;D

Don't worry I haven't forgotten about the Nodosums, I've been avoiding posting anything until after the bank holiday, didn't want anything stuck in the post for 4 days, & now we've only got 3 days of this week left i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/rolleyes.gif Sometimes Geraniums being promiscuous can be a good thing, these have come into flower between the cracks in the paving on the bottom patio. I've got the common Pink one growing in the cracks there too & Mrs KC is all around in the borders & the gravel. Somehow they've got together & I've got this which is the colour of Mrs KC without the stripes but has got the habit & flower shape of the pink one. Jillyx

Yay, a 'cat proof' geranium Jilly ;D Despite all the concerns about whether the 'Splish Splash' would come true from seed, every one I've grown on, or given away has had the markings. Might not be the case this year, as my hardy geranium collection has grown significantly thanks to friends donations of seeds and cuttings ;D

They do grow quite big Geranium so I'd say go for it. It' won't survive that long there anyhow. Good luck. Jilly, glad to hear you've joined the club.

Its amazing where plants will pop up and they usually do better than the parent ones, just scrape the gravel away and gently lift the little fella but be careful G. you are still recovering from your Op. Maybe Henry had something to do with it during one of his rock playing/moving sessions Think I will go look for some seed for Splish Splash it will make a nice change from the Blue and Pink ones I have.

I just noticed on the T&M website that splish splash flowers from June to September. Not in my experience. June only in my garden. Do you other splish splash owners get a longer flowering period? It's tall, 2 foot, and quite attractive but still... What geraniums do flower for a long time? I understand Rozanne and Brookside are good. Does anyone have experience of these?

I cut spent splish splash flowers back after it starts setting seed and got a second flowering last year. Lots of my hardy geraniums are quite new to me, so I'm learning as I go along x Tig

I cut Splish Splash back last year and had another flush of flowers although not as many as the first. I'm hoping it'll reflower for me as I've had to cut one of mine down this year again because the weather destroyed it. I had to cut Bill Wallis back as well as it got all broken. It's started to grow again and has some flowers on one of the stalks.

Rozanne starts flowering in June and carries on until October/November, and Brookside is long flowering too - not quite as long, though. The pratense group ('Spish-Splash' is one) need to be cut back after they've flowered, then you'll get another flush of flowers. I dug up my little 'Spish-Splash' from the gravel and it came out with a good lot of roots, so I have hope that it might survive. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

With your green fingers Geranium it should florish ;D yes I would love some seed thank you. I have a what I call a wild one its pinkish and grows up or down and its a real thug it comes up everywhere I try to keep it in just one spot on the wild bit of garden but it has some root system and they have come up up to 10' away from the main plant so I just yank it out to keep on top of it but it does seem to flower for most of the summer, I'm not sure if I could send any to Poland but next time I'm in the post office I could check for you Totp if you want?

I have 2 plants which have been outside all winter and they are starting to sprout new leaves, thought that they wouldnt come again with the neglect I did cut them back to about 2" but they are growing from the base so should I cut the old stems down to the soil level?
