A few of mine has started to flower... I got a bag of 5 Red leaved Dahlia's and up to now I have a lovely white/cream flower on one... A Yellow one... I grew two Dahlia's from seed the year before last and this year they are fantastic...can't remember what they are...any ideas anyone?? and this white one which fades into a very delicate pink... Others are just opening so I will take pics of those as they come... RF

That is really striking RF, it is so ruddy cold here again I reckon mine would like to move East to Germany!! Do you have problems with s & s, and blackfly? I noticed despite the pellets a couple are nibbled already, and the first signs of blackfly on one of the pale green leaved ones x Tig

Ooo thanks for the noms - it is really a lovely variety I think.
At the moment Tig all is well on the bug side and under the leaves of the Dahlias there is always a blue "glow".
I have to say that what I fear most is the earwigs...and this year in Germany we have a massive invasion of caterpillars..they have done sooo much damage - even trees are bald .....

I thought moth balls were a banned substance now.!!! I've seen three shops today selling mothballs....and one was actively promoting them....so I think that perhaps (hopefully) you were misinformed They've changed the composition of them taken out the napathene, 'coz it was a fire risk I think it said.

That's pretty RF. It reminds me of a new lupin I saw in a magazine recently - it was a marbled lupin - same colours as your dahlia.

Thanks Jasmine - this is my 4th Redskin and again I rather like it.... One thing that I would like to know is this...all my Dahlias are in tubs on the terrace in the sun - all are happy except one...this.. It gets the same amount of water as the others, same amount of sun but it droops - the others don't, why then?? RF

I noticed one of mine has more of a tendency to droop RF - it's Duet. Are the drainage holes in the pot clear? Perhaps it is sitting in wet for longer Amber will hopefully have some useful suggestions x Tig
