This is my C. cirrhosa 'Lansdowne Gem', which flowers in the winter months. It has decided to flower now - there are lots of buds! I have two herbaceous clematis plants, which I inherited. To be honest, I'm not all that keen on them. Clematis x jouiniana.

I love that 'Russian' one Barbara Just amazed how well mine are doing this year, so many are still in flower and one of the earlies is about to start again, think it's Markhams Pink Here are some I took yesterday ... First flower to open on Rosemoor this year Others you'll have seen before, but just so you know what has the potential to flower for a longish period .. Burma Star Better one of Arabella Madame Julia Correvon Ville de Lyon Princess Diana (one of my faves Girenas More flowers on Fond Memories (another favourite) despite a worryingly slow start this year and another opportunity to share my Blue Angel - which if it performs as well next year will deffo become a favourite ;D x Tig

What a shame Jas, it is a good doer for me, although you can see some dark spots on the leaves which is a bit of a worry I've got Carnaby growing quite close, and that has reflowered, on the other side is Scartho Gem, which got wilt!!! I'm a bit of a crammer, as folk know , and sometimes wonder if I grow then too snuggly? That may be the problem with Sunset, which also got wilt, as Pamela Jackman is nearby and is a bit of a thug in clematis terms, I think!! x Tig

Those are all looking great Tig, they've done really well for you this year. I'm disappointed with all of mine. They've not performed at all for me despite putting on lots of growth. Perhaps it's because they were only planted in this year and they might be taking a bit of time to settle. Therre's always next year.

This is 'Royal Velours'. It has lots and lots of buds this year, all above my head, growing along amongst the montana, but so lovely. And here's my new Piilu - I just hope it likes the position I've found for it.

Lovely, Auricula. I like the blue one especially. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif Isabella, that Clem has no fear of heights, has it! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/grin.gif Here's C. vit. 'Purpurea Plena Elegans' which is in its second year. It decided to ramble up onto the honeysuckle, so I had to climb on a stool to take its photo. I inherited no less than three C. tanguticas, and they're all thugs. Never mind, the flowers (and seedheads) are pretty. I wasn't able to plant two of the new ones I got yesterday - Betty Corning and C. x durandii - the weather defeated me. I managed to plant 'Piilu', in a better place where I hope it'll thrive.

This is climbing up through the alpina clem, I can't remember it's name, it's the first time it's flowered as last year someone snapped it in half just as it got a bud on.

I like those tanguticas - are those the ones with the "orange peel " petals? How do you look after those?

It's not a pretty sight when I 'look after' the tanguticas in the spring, Auricula - you'd have to avert your eyes. I hack them back as far as I can - right down to ground level! They still grow about 12' or more in a season, though. I do feed them, like the others, as I always feel mean if I don't. Barbara - that one's a lovely colour! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif
