Jilly, Thanks for the heads up. I'll concentrate on those I have for the next year or two. By the way, do you find Fond Memories ok to grow? Jenny bought one the other week and tips are always welcome.

Thank you Rosefriend,. I was really pleased with the outcome of it as well. It was one of those point the camera at the flower, without being able to see through the lense. Otherwise I would have had to have had a step ladder!

Sorry I didn't see your post at the time Ladygardener, no special tips for Fond Memories I'm afraid, she's not in an ideal position & I'm always surprises when she comes back stronger year after year, still going strong now. Oh yes, having seen the photo, avoid climbing snails if possible Supermarket Clem that always does brilliantly, it's not actually in the pot but in the border behind it, which probably helps, think we've established that it's Comtesse de Bouchard. Etoile Violette, think isabella recommended this one, love the colour, even if it did make a bid for freedom this year and most of it has disappeared over the back fence (& I don't even like the neighbour at the back )

Your clematis is a gorgeous colour Jilly but it might not be Etoile violette - this is mine

Wow that's beautiful isabella, you could well be right about mine, as I haven't got the space to give anything a decent planting hole, I tend to just buy my Clems cheaply in the supermarket (then it doesn't matter if they don't cope) so I just go by their labels & I think they guess half the time

Great Clematis pics, Jilly the Fond Memories looks good with the Geranium below it. I've got Etoile violette as well but it's not opened yet.
