You've got great variety and colour there Rf they look lovely. They're such great plants and for the most part come back every year. My only problem with them is that every year some of them get attacked by the saw fly. They can decimate the leaves in a couple of days:angry:

No problem - it's a lovely colour - no idea where it came from though...
I'll tie some cotton to it so that I don't forget - just make sure to remind me that it is you that wants it...!!!!!!

It's a lovely one Auricula. I have one similar or the same but it only produced 1 flower stalk this year and last. I think it's not getting enough air and light.

I saw that recently, and was very tempted, but I had nowhere suitable to plant it. Here's my favourite (at the moment!)

Wonderful aren't they Rosefriend, I think they tall blue one comes from seed I pinched from Mum, think it''s the one that looks so good with the Geum on her thread, but I've no idea where the gorgeous pale blue & white one comes from, I've got it on both sides of the garden & can't remember buying it.

I love all the Aquilegias and wish they would self seed a bit more in my garden, yours and your Mums are great Jilly. I've grown most of mine from seed as well, most I've collected or have been given by the kind folks on here.

As you've found out Ron, yes Aquilegia have names and there are hundreds of them. I sowed Mc Kenna Giants last year and most of them are now pricked out and in their own pots. I've a lovely variety called Lime Sorbet and others called Biedermeier Mixed and a lovely Sunshine yellow one that I've forgotten the name of that are on my list to sow.
