You're very lucky! ;D I would really love to go away this Christmas - only in the UK - but somewhere where someone else could do all the hard work! This idea didn't fill the rest of the family with any enthusiasm what so ever so here we'll be I reckon. I got met with wails about traditions and so on

Difficult one isn't it....we spent years and years going to the in-laws...the German Christmas is of course on Christmas Eve, ours is 25th and to top it all it was also mum-in-law's birthday on the 25th...
Now that they have all gone the last two years have been so much easier...the girls wanted us to go there but we are not starting yet another "tradition"... We have OH's Christmas on the 24th, he decides what we eat, then I have my Turkey Christmas on the 25th and the best day of all is Boxing day - all left overs and no cooking!!!!
You still have children at home but I know what I would do...have Christmas a week or so earlier with the family and all the family bring food with them - a buffet is quickly sorted and then book somewhere for you and your family...

It's difficult for me with the girls living so far away from each other and with the children all being in school and work. Last year Jenny and family and I went over to Ruth's but you know it was a long journey with not much time together at the end of it. It won't be happening this year. I know I'll see Jenny and family at some stage of the holiday but honestly I'm not sure where everyone will be but so long as we're all feeling well then we can have a chat on skype at least. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif I've not yet made a start on pressies, I'll have to get my thinking cap on. My girls will hopefully let me know what to get for their children, they all have so much it's difficult to know what to get. i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/smiley.gif

I just love that Missy! i221.photobucket.com/albums/dd161/GWDAdmin1/Smilies/Default/cheesy.gif I loved the year we had 3 Christmases, one in October half term with our lovely friends, one before we went away and one in Florida. Couldn't go through that will we get away, will it snow thing again though.

I remember that Missy. I guess if you're going to be snowed in the best place is in your own cosy home with plenty of hot choccie and squirty cream...for the hot choccie obviously! ;D
