Once again, it is a little early to say it is spring but I found my first open snowdrop today...and the sun is shining!

Wonderful Jasmine, I've got quite a few showing white, but none fully out yet. I did have one Iris Reticulata out, but something had given it a good old nibble before I noticed it, so it wasn't fit to be photographed . Quite a few more with fat buds though & I've put pellets round them all now.

Thanks Jilly - doesn't it just boost your spirits! What a different day today...not one for looking round the garden to see what's out!

Lovely sight Jas. I found some with white bits showing and I managed to track down the winter aconites today, they are through and showing a hint of yellow, just not in the place I had been looking! I'm sure they do a moonlight flit every year and reappear somewhere else!!

It's great to see those little white flowers is'nt it Jasmine. I've a couple out as well, they're so tiny and difficult to photograph 'tho. Hopefully those are the start of many lovely little blooms. How funny that they're moved Tig. My Iris Harmony are well up but I've not got any in bloom Jilly. Thanks for the reminder about the pellets, I need to sprinkle some too.

Now that is a sight for sore eyes, owdboggy. I have one solitary snowdrop out - I was going to post it for Jasmine, but I won't now. I'll just show you my Lonicera purpusii which I love!

Clematis napaulensis... And a view across the front garden with so many different shades of green! It just caught my eye. I do like H. foetidus at this time of year.

That Clem is a real beauty Geranium - bet it wouldn't survive here though. My H.foetidus are looking good even if OH did manage to snap half of it off with the hoe!! RF

Geranium, lovely shades alright. Are all those different coloured leaves from the same plant?

Thanks for the noms, everyone! theinsidegardener - I think it might be two plants, but I'll check if and when the rain ever stops. Jasmine - I'm not really surprised to hear about Tonbridge - I seem to remember that the river runs close to the town centre? I saw that Maidstone was flooded by the bridge - probably elsewhere, too. Which river is it at Tonbridge? Is it still the Medway or a tributary?

It's the Medway Geranium and it does flow right through town. It's the same in Uckfield although their defences seem to have kept them flood free since 2000, I think, when the centre/bottom of town was flooded really badly. Some of the shops down in that bit of town have pictures of boats bobbing about in the High Street and shops were shut for ages. The town has a sign by the River Uck - you can imagine the fun thats' had with that particular sign!!!

It is Ladygardener but we are 180m above sea level so we're more likely to have snow dumped on us in very cold weather than be flooded. I think that's the better option although I really, really don't like snow!

I thought it was the Medway, Jasmine, but I had a moment of doubt because it's called ' Ton-bridge' so logically it could have been the river 'Ton', couldn't it! Glad you're safe from floods. Or flood gate is back in again...unfortunately.

Thanks goodness for that Jasmine. Geranium, it must be awful not knowing when or if you're going to get flooded again. Hope everyone stays dry. It's uplifting to see little Snowdrops peeking through even 'tho the ground is saturated. I even have an orange flower on Geum Cooky.
