He'll be sitting on a little goldmine soon at this rate Rosefriend!
He may need security cameras...I was reading on a Galanthus forum that 2 well known snowdrop growers/sellers have no stock of 2 special snowdrops this year as they've all been stolen

Glad to see January Gold just made it Jasmine, I may have to get a few of those as I can't see anything on mine, even February Gold is only just breaking the surface, so it wants to get a move on Love Daphne's Scissors, even I (with my eyesight) can see the distinctive markings on these.

Thanks for the nom Jilly! I bought Daphne's Scissors as it is Mum's name but I love the markings on them! Anglesey Abbey's markings are supposed to look like a Chinese bridge and I suppose they do! Oops, I forgot it was the first day of February - still, the daffodils must've been out yesterday - I just haven't seen the garden in daylight this week! I am going to get more January Gold/Rijnveld's Early Sensation for next year - I have to say they are a smashing sight from indoors!

Just been having a look at more snowdrops!!! I think the labels must've got muddled as Anglesey Abbey has a smudgy almost non-existanct marking and Straffan has the Chinese bridge. Back to the drawing board!

You with muddled labels Jasmine , you're not going to sleep tonight now are you ? . I'd blame mice if I were you.

Well, I was on the verge of a label induced panic attack Jilly when I looked at Avon's picture of Anglesey Abbey and they look just like mine - so that cheered me up. Then I looked in one of my snowdrop books and they were plain white so that set me off again and then I looked in the snowdrop bible and they showed a clump and some were white and some looked like mine and it said that was normal. Crisis averted!

for Daphne and her scissors from me. Remember my two rescued Hellebores? They're in flower now, and I'm thrilled to bits I saved them. It was worth it!

For those wonderful Daffs, what a heart warming sight. Love the Snowdrops too but you've already got 3 noms for those. So good that the mice have left them alone. That was a very lucky save Geranium.

I just love these helebores, when is the time to plant them for next year? i must have one.
My snowdrops are now out and crocus coming up, planted tulips yesterday that were half in bulb ( as never bought tulip bulbs), not sure how you call it when you buy them like this, slightly showing tops of bulb. So your daffs are out Lady gardener wow in N Ireland too, havent seen any open here.

If you look at the first woodland picture you may be able to pick out the throne. Bit narrow for most people though. Th only things which use the Gazebo are the local pheasants now. Once upon a time our hens spent most of the day in there.

Absolutely beautiful owdboggy, it must lift you heart every time you see them, can you see the wood from the house or do you have to have a walk up there? I was just thinking how wonderful it would be if you could see them from inside on these dark horrible days.

We can see part of the Wood from the Kitchen window, more of it from the Bedroom window. but since the top end of the garden nearest to the house is also full of Snowdrops it does not really matter. In fact there are visible Snowdrops in every direction, even outside along the lane on the opposite side of the road. Heaven knows how they got out there.
Bought the most expensive Snowdrop I have ever done, last night G. Fred's Giant at £5. I resisted the temptation to buy Godfrey Owen at £20, a step too far for me. Also got a pot of G. atkinsii at a reasonable price.

I see the throne now owdboggy, right in the middle of all the Snowdrops. Nice buys too. Godfrey Owen is very different looking, I really like the look of it but would never in a million years pay that for a Snowdrop.

Do you know there is something about the yellow of daffs that is so wonderful...saw some pink ones in the GC today - somehow they don't have the same "wow" effect as the yellow ones... RF
