Or a bit late Saying that, has anyone noticed that a few trees are losing a lot of leaves? I have seen three acers that are showing signs of autumn colours!!!! Not on my acers as yet but my Euonymus europaeus is showing signs of autumn colours on some leaves and the wine next door, some of the leaves are going red... My Seven-son flower - Heptacodium miconioides will be flowering soon - normally that is in late August/Sept.... The Birch tree is losing it's seeds all over and leaves as well... The next questions is - when do we get the first frost!! RF

I've actually got a Hellebore with a flower on it atm too Rosefriend, it did this the same time last year, I just thought it was because they were babies that I'd just planted out & it had got a bit confused, but the same one is doing it again this year. What I've noticed is the lovely Rowan trees that we've got in the car park at work have got all their bright red berries already, OH & I were only watching a pair of Blackbirds gorging themselves today & we were joking that they wouldn't have any left come the winter.

My Clematis cirrhosas are in flower, too. The copper beech is shedding a few leaves, but that's probably due to 'that' wind that kept on a-blowing.

I put mine in the shed over winter Ladygardener, I have lost too many lovely ones over cold winters leaving them out. They are kept very dry too - they just get a sprinkling when I remember!

I bring mine into the GH or shed and do the same as you Jasmine, I wrap the pot in bubble wrap though once we get to below zero. I lost all mine in the winter of 2011 and only have one now

Barbara, Jasmine, scarecrow, Rosefriend, Dutchy, Tig, Jilly, Geranium, Ladygardener, Chuckles, theinsidegardener, Yes I have eventually joined the two threads together, - sorry to mess your bookmarks up!! So many things flowering and growing out of turn this year ....hey Jilly, coooeee - do you recognise this then?? Yep - it is the Brazen Hussy that you sent me - well, the result of the lump of compost...out of season, so I will keep it in the GH for the winter and then plant it out..
