Hope Schmickles is OK now April, poor thing! Just to share, I visited the Co-op Pharmacy (Staffordshire branch) this week and they had 20% off Frontline Spot (cats and dogs) - I got the six pack for £21:95p instead of £27.45p, I have had a much happier moggie since she's been treated, no sore patches and all her fur has grown back x Tig

We love 'em?? Well I don't love mine!! Today he left me a present on the doorstep A fish Well, half a fish My fish My ex-fish I know it's him. I've watched the cats that drink at the pond and he's the only one who settles down to watch them The only one who goes into stalking mode I've spent all day flicking water at him, shouting "Now let's see how much you like getting wet you murderer!!!" He's the only one who poops in my garden, who lays in my pots and containers, who's a complete PITA We adopted him as a stray. I wish he'd stray off again!!

Awwwwwwww NO xxxx My cat used to get hold of my hamster and carry her downstairs miaowing to be let outside. It's their natural instinct so you can't get too angry with him

Wouldn't be so bad if he ate the damn things, but he just chews the head off. He's had about 5 fish now (and a pet rat a few years ago! ) I bet he only does it cos he's too fat and old to catch birds and mice now!! Great gormless lump!

Amo, thank you so much for posting that pic for me. I have loads of questions about them. One thing I am really interested about is letting them out. I was told that they either have to be 'house' pets or you have to have a run, seeing as they cover such a vast area in an evening. You obviously do let yours out, so how do you make sure Izzy comes home again?

He was a house cat for the first 4 years of his life and spent most of that under the Hemorrhoid's bed. When she couldn't cope anymore we agreed to have him, and the two Sommali's, but I was not going to have them as house cats. I've never restricted a cat. We started him off in the courtyard, he's far too big to get his weight over a 6ft fence panel, and then added a cat flap through to the chook run. We've now added a hole in the trellis and he can more or less go anywhere. He's usually to be found in a puddle of sunlight fast asleep, on the compost heaps or curled up in the cat house. He doesn't seem to go far but I think most cat owners would be shocked to find out how far their cat actually travels at night!! Why do you think they sleep all day?? He is the one everyone loves the most, even the vet takes the long way around the waiting room carrying him to the dog scales so he can show him off. ;D

Hey I've got one of those, or should I say OH has got one of those I was told that if I let a Maine coon out it wouldnt come back or someone might shoot it thinking it was a beast of bodmin type thing. Does she just stay in your garden?

Post by Amo on Apr 7, 2008 19:50:26 GMT
He went next door once and couldn't get back over the fence. We thought it was the beast of Bodin with all the howling going on!! He doesn't seem to go far but he's is very lazy. Probably down to being a house cat for a long time. Now if you want to see a cat run, this is one that belongs to a lady I used to, well, be a part of her forum with. www.victorianflowergarden.com/nonsuch/enclosures.html

We're off to the vets again this morning for Schmickles' second lot of injections. We were meant to go last friday at 6pm but I only realised at 7:30pm that we hadn't gone... whoops!
It's Toffee's fault for going AWOL for 16 hours. It's not like her to leave the house never mind not come back for hours.
Got to get the vet to get Schmickles to take her worming tablet too hehe She's so not going to be talking to me afterwards...

Awwwwwwwwwww!!! There was a ginger tom at the vets while we were there. He was in for blood tests as the vets thought he might have FIV. Luckily it wasn't so his new owner was very happy. It only cost me £7 too because apparently they overcharged me the first time. That was very honest of them wasn't it? Schmickles howled all the way there and back....
